Hey guys drop me a line when you arrive take you to some cool places. And if you guys are crazy enough to go to china we can eat in the town across Shenzhen . At the official autonomous region of xinjiang in the people's republic of China Uighur affairs office Shenzhen branch (kitchen). It's where all the boot lickers from xinjiang eat Lamb kebabs and fresh naan. Oh and they actually service booze behind a covered cabinet and not mark your receipts because it's haram. Four seasons stopped serving sharks fin by the way. Actually it's banned in hotels and government functions. Ok I'm going to take one for the team and try out this manchurian dumpling place in china town then go drink somewhere

Waiting in line in Koya hopefully it's good. But man soho is so gentrified now and kinda cool! There's also gourmet burger kitchen next door. Man all these restaurants going global

I like Momo for afternoon tea - http://momoresto.com/restaurant/london/momo/mo-cafe-terrace/afternoon-tea/ - it's Moroccan so there's plenty of savouries and it's very different to most places offering the same bland sandwiches and super-sweet cakes. Phenomenal tea menu as well.

Thanks for the recommendation for salt yard and tea. It's funny thinking that goons all over the world love burgers and sometimes whiskey. So I waited for around 40 minute for Koya bar last night. It's an interesting place but a bit culturally shocking for me. The udon is great and all, and the meat portions very generous. With the water here being so soft who needs lyre to make noodles! The broth and egg were a little disappointed though but perhaps it's the line which made me fussier. One thing that really peeves is how everyone just lingers and chat without caring about the long queue . I was in solo goon eating mode so I managed to eat everything at a fast place and gtfo. Then again management and chef were slow as gently caress for a noodle place. 17 pounds for beef noodles and extras and no drink is on the high side. But we are in London and the other Japanese restaurants nearby look China town bad. Still haven't been to any bars and did basic grocery shopping at the 24hr Arab supermarkets. They rule

Might be permanently discontinued though, I was trying to find a pub with my boss for a pie + pint on Friday lunch and it didn't seem to be on the menu. Good little place though.

Not so much a dining question but still related to food: Any recommendations for cheesemongers in London? I want to pick up some cheese for my girlfriend that we had when we went to Chile, it seems quite rare and hard to find outside South America so I'd probably need somewhere that's quite specialist.

It's called Queso Mantecoso. I had a feeling it would be difficult to find  If I can find a decent cheesemongers they might be able to help me find a similar cheese - it was hard but very creamy and buttery.

We just had dinner at Marcus (Wareing's place at The Berkeley). 8-course vegetarian tasting menu. Really, really good. So much deliciousness. Amazing technique put to the cause of fantastic flavour and texture combinations.

I went to Pitt Cue Co for the first time in a couple of years last night. It was a nice reminder of how BBQ done properly is meant to taste and how absolutely loving dreadful most of the stuff being served up everywhere else around the city is. I thinking of instituting a personal boycott of all restaurants following a "food1 & food2" naming convention.

A deli just opened up near my house called Flesh & Flour. I've not been yet, and I like the kinds of foods you'd expect to get in a place like that, but I am anticipating extreme levels of hipster smugness. Edit: maybe smug hipsterness?
