I have a really stupid idea to start a business of selling toast from a mobile wagon to drunks over the weekend and the more I think about it the more stupid it is but also the more I think it would work

I could be a toastman

Do it in Shoreditch or somewhere equally hipster and you'll make a mint. I mean, cheese toastie restaurants are actually a thing in Silicon Valley.

Yeah, longer trains wouldn't fit in the stations.

we should make them taller instead, like double decker buses.

The trouble with that is the approximately one billion Victorian bridges over railways that were designed for a normal-height steam engine.

Edit: my work is air conditioned. Because I am a man, it is always about 3 degrees too warm when I'm wearing a t-shirt no matter what time of year it is (I assume it is 3 degrees too cold for any women working here). Jumpers are Right Out.

I have air conditioning at my work too but it's just not enough. I get hot very easily it seems.

Seems easy to solve, just make each deck half as high.

This is essentially the plot of the film Chef. The guy makes pro tier cheese and ham toasties and people love them.

Am I the only woman on the planet who complained of being too warm in offices? Never been in one where I didn't melt unless I was there for an interview in which case I was nervous and therefore cold :D

I used to sit between two ladies at work who were of a certain age and varying office temperature (max 1 or 2 degrees I reckon) was very serious business.

is that a euphemism for 'probably about the right age to have hit the menopause? if not, what exactly is 'a certain age'?

The females at my workplace are always whinging about how cold it is in the office.

Perhaps if they concentrated on their jobs for once, they wouldn't have time to think about petty distractions like the room temperature :smug:

i don't know why it looks so stupid when people use "females" instead of "women", "ladies", "dongsheathes" etc, but it does. it brings to mind an autist in a labcoat, i suppose

e: also i just got back from the gym and got to my flat and couldn't find my key in my bag, so i had to stand outside like a big sweaty sexpest rummaging awkwardly in my bag while a horrified granny watched

Pretty much, it's like the old mout ones you see behind bars sometimes.

Don't really fancy attacking it with a saw again so I'll just have to store the "wine" in a cupboard until drunk
