Its not walk into a parts store, ask for part, get part easy for a few things. We've been helping a customer restore one to sell and the trim pieces specific to that vehicle or made of rubber is proving interesting to find. But I also have no access to the internet/google at work, so this is just referring to whats in the computer/books. Enthusiast forums probably have a wealth of knowledge and people selling used parts for them that I don't have access to.

Gotta stay well oxygenated when your muscles are the only thing keeping you from falling out of the sky.

MINI COOPER 1.3 TURBO TOYOTA 170BHP, FULLY RESTORED. (1991) £9,950quote:MPLY OUTSTANDING - this UNIQUE 170BHP Mini Cooper Classic round nose 1991 TOYOTA 1.3 TURBO STARLET/GLANZA CONVERSION has undergone a recent 2 year full nut and bolt restoration project by a fully qualified engineer, a proper petrolhead's labour of love with a massive dose of ocd!I have a full photographic and documented build diary, and full lever arch file of bills/history. All handbooks and papers are present for the motorsport or specialist parts as well. As old as the cliché is it is most definitely apt in this case-this car can only be appreciated by viewing as I cannot possibly describe it's beauty and attention to detail. Listed below is an outline specification but I am sure to have missed many finer points so please ask! There has obviously been a very serious investment in both money and hours far far exceeding the asking price which represents fantastic value especially compared with other converted Mini's given that this is a much nicer driving experience. This car is in show condition throughout. This seems like a sensible and practical car. Wolfsbane fucked around with this message at 17:35 on Dec 14, 2015 |

If Magnas parts binned in with an EVO/DSM/Galant VR4 rear end, it'll be fine. Depending on the amount of power, the axles might be unhappy, but the diff will be fine.

Looking at how clean and simple the rest of the car is, even an engine rebuild seems like it would be soooooooo worth it. copart has mystery fees that vary from yard to yard. It might be as little as $20 or as much as $400. They also usually charge $20 to get into the yard. even if you're just looking at stuff or picking up your vehicle. Being a clean title car, you should be able to bid on it, but if you're serious about it find out first, because some places still require a dealers license and stuff, even on the clean title stuff.

I'll watch it but I expect the bids to climb pretty quick. Edit: it's already at $775.

I'd avoid unless you really want to restore it and have a ton of cash to burn.

Sitting in the grass like that, there's not going to be any rockers/sill panels left, maybe no solid floors either. My mazdas are bad enough and they were rust free when I bought them, and never sat in grass. Japanese cars just rust, a lot, if not taken care of. I love old datsuns too. Even though I'm more into ford falcons now, and all about mazdas before that, I like the old datsuns. My brothers first car was a datsun and I learned to drive in it a bit, also I had friends with 1600s and 180 sss. I even remember an old 1200 datsun ute with a rotary in it at the drag track. Half the reason I got into rotaries was I used to like datsuns and there was a few madsuns/dazdas about (datsuns with rotaries). I would love a 240z, (e: can't even find a hotwheels version!), but they are $10k+ cars here now and for that money I'd rather find a ford fairlane.
