Mentally retardation is such a strong word.
So I've got to say, I had fun in Star Citizen today.

After a bit of clicking around to get into the spaceship instance (could these be better labelled?), I managed to request and get into a Retaliator without falling through the floor (for the first time!). I promptly spent the next five minutes ramming ships off landing pads until cigphysics.mp4 happened and the ship somehow ejected me and starting flying off at crazy speeds. I went and requested another ship to try and catch it but even at boosting speeds I couldn't catch up.

So it gave me the idea to not just crash into ships on landing pads, but to bowl them off the pads until they were far enough away from the space station to shoot them. I only managed it once before dying, but it was pretty fun.

GOTY.

True. But they do have 100m for that BDSSE and such idea can be simple. Start by having every destroyed ship (be it PVP or PVE) leave a few lifepods or suited body behind that any ship can pick up. Without any modules, you end up with "organic fertilizer" in the cargo hold, but with a sickbay you can have "survivors" worth a little more (to be either released for faction rep + a little $ or sold as slaves to the spice mine for more $$$)

As for PVP, if your pod get picked up your death penality could be partially re-imbursed, even if your consciousness was already transmitted into a new you or you could be informed of the final whereabout of your body (reprocessed into a servitor unit ?) in a killmail.

For all his humility and evident down to earth nature i bet Braden sometime think what he could do with 100M and say its a terrible day for rain.

Supposedly you will be able to get every ship in game through credits. That is likely true. How long it takes to get one, especially if CIG sells ships and is motivated to keep prices high, is not known. Personally I suspect that they will keep their word and existing backers who dropped hundreds will discover that the game really was worth about $60.

THE DREAM is that you don't even need a ship. You can get jobs working on other craft, or steal one.

the official answer is: there are no ships being sold that you cannot earn in game, however, they have not yet worked out the details for what you have to do and how long it will take to earn those ships.

the real answer is: this game is a scam from top to bottom and will never actually come out. do not spend money on it.

#1 : No. Smallest ammount you have to spend to get in (outside of promotional "Free Fly" events) is 40$ for an Aurora package. Dont do it. Wait in 4 years if the game has not imploded and is actually any good.

#2 : We dont know, CIG dont know, the whales spending 35k on this think they know, but if you put 5 whales in a room with a simple question about the game you get 12 answers and 3 new features.

#3 Sadly for you neither Elite: Dangerous or This dumpster fire will suit your need.

Maybe check Rebel Galaxy ? Its short and not too deep, but its less $$ than a PIzza Hut triple treat box and will probably go on sale during the hollyday on Steam.

I'm flying around in elite dangerous right now so waiting isn't a big issue. I really don't do much other than fly to a resource site and shoot criminals, then fly around and look at pretty stuff. But I also don't feel pressured to need to make money to sustain any gameplay, so I guess ED is fine for me.

A mandatory subscription is one of the things CIG has been against from the start. Whether or not a voluntary subscription offers such an immense benefit that it's essentially mandatory remains to be seen. Buying the basic package for $45 will get you both Star Citizen and Squadron 42. After January 31st the two packages will be separated.

That said I would not give CIG any money at this time. I would pay attention to the development, laugh at the insanity of the community, and register an account so that whenever CIG does "fly free" weeks you can hop in and try things out. However there is no guarantee that Star Citizen, or Squadron 42, will be any good. There is even less of a guarantee that both will be good.

WANT A MELTDOWN? KEEP READING FROM YOUR MOTHERS BASEMENTS WHILE YOU BEAT YOUR TINY DICK SECRETLY THINKING OF SANDI YOU HYPOCRITICAL PIECES OF HUMAN GARBAGE.
To any and all Star Citizen fans that may come here to read what we or anyone else may write we have this to say: We welcome you.

We welcome your comments on our page letting us know how terrible we are, or how unprofessional we are, or how much we lack journalistic integrity, etc. We read all of these comments and we take them all to heart. As all we have ever done is aim to make you happy and content in your purchase of the BDSSE.

If we have in any way offended any of you, on behalf of Vanessa and myself, we apologize. We didn't mean to upset you. We never knew you would react with such vitriol. We thought that you would open your arms and accept us into the fold lovingly.

So from this point further we can promise you we will only write full pieces for SC. We will detail how amazing 2.0 is. How the from "Pupil to Planet" video is in no way generated in engine, but totally real time gameplay. We will discuss how no other game developer even comes close to Chris Roberts obvious genius. We will gladly post numerous pictures of Sandi draped in nothing but a flag for you to fawn over. From this point forward we will embrace everything that you are, and give it back to you 10 fold. We love you Star Citizen fans. We always have and always will.

With that being said, we would like to extend out to you this offer, we are now crowdfuding our very own search for an editor! It's clear that you disposable income, and we would be very happy if you could find some way to extend some of those funds our way. This will ensure that any and all future post are strictly pro Star Citizen, and that nothing inflamitory can slip through the cracks. More so this will ensure that our journalistic integrity is up to your very rigorous standards.

We will be accepting donations in any form of payment you wish to send, and we promise you that any and all funds will go completely towards finding an editor*. We expect this process to be completed around the end of 2016 and we are aiming for a new launch date for our site of Dec 2016 with full editorial control and mandates enforced from then on out.

If you would like to assist in funding this campaign please contact us directly at info@informationredux.com

We're aiming for someone like this.

*Some funds may go towards the purchase of new housing, as well as craft services, and a never ending supply of Dunkin Donuts. Funds will be refundable within the first 14 days of donation, though only a proceed may be refunded back to you. Fund may also be allocated to hire a "well known" and "respected" community manager as well as used to bring on friends and family as contributors, please disregard any perceived nepotism as we can ensure that this is simply what's best for both the site and you the viewer of such. Please be aware that the TOS for the "Crowd Fund an Editor Campaign" is subject to change at any time and any acceptance of such is a show of good faith on your end to obey by such rules as set forth by informationredux.com.

Here's Star Citizen superfan (and almost CIG marketing employee) Nikki "Batgirl" DeAngelo''s latest State of the Game video.

quote:

"I do support the game fully - I've supported it with close to $4000 of my own money and with over 100 videos and hours and hours of my time. But I am realistic and I know that things do take a long time eggspecially (sic) when you're building a virtual universe-- not just a game. And I think that maybe that's singlehandedly the biggest thing that people don't understand. That this isn't just a game. Squadron 42 is the game. Star Citizen is a living, breathing universe and that's something that's going to take time."
Running up stairs to the landing paid, she turns while still talking. Her Cutlass has spawned with its rear end propped up on some miscellaneous piece of space architecture.

quote:

"Nonetheless the eye-candy that we saw... what the gently caress? What the hell happened to my Cutlass? How am I going to get into that?"
Game crashes less than 2 minutes after she manages to get it off the landing pad.

10 Minutes in, this happens.

10:30 into the game, she gets out of her seat, which drops her out of her ship, and then it drifts away.

She floats towards it. As she nears it, her shadow somehow manages to render atop the ship, yet below the decal teeth.

She manages to get into the ship again, and is told after entering the cockpit that it is overheating. She takes command and starts flying, and then starts complaining about Elite Dangerous charging for the Horizon's expansion. A person who has spent $4000 on Star Citizen spaceships that she can't successfully fly yet finds it "hard to stomach" paying $60 more to have Planetary Landings in a real game.

at 16:45, she attempts to land on a derelict station while raving about how amazing the "From Pupil to Planet" video was. Landing gear is down- all is looking good- when it suddenly bolts forward and into the station.

quote:

"Whoa! What?!... Explain that loving ship. Excuse my language that was just crazy."
At 17:16 seconds, she prepares to exit via the cockpit hatch. Yet she can not, after repeated efforts.

quote:

"I can't get out of that hatch? You've got to be fricking kidding me.
At 21:22, she crashes again.

This is the State of the Game.
