Both Fury Road and The Force Awakens benefitted a lot from their breakneck pace and lack of downtime. I am all in favor of movies having little downtime instead of being 3+ hour bloated monstrosities.

I love watching The Dove Affair from the original series. It's a solid hour of Robert Vaughn and Ricardo Montalban having a scene-stealing competition. The movie captured the feel of the series quite well, which is a relief because the trailers were much more... what's the right word, blockbuster-y, than the actual movie.

And the last four days before New Years isn't really primo available TV watching nights either....I feel like a kid cramming for a test after slacking all semester. EDIT: That's not even counting the random TV I've come across this year, that I need to remember.

Fury Road was good and rewatchable but try as I might I don't really feel it as much as some of you "best movie of the year all years" guys. The ending bit of Contact kind of undermines it main theme. It's a good film, but it kind off gets lost thematically. Like they wanted to have "religious ppl r dum" and "the gubment"/" top men" instead of "the prophet Jodie Foster".

The BBC just did a fantastic version of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. The cast is full on amazing (it includes Charles Dance, Aiden Turner, Burn Gorman, Miranda Richardson, Toby Stephens, Noah Taylor), the way its shot is beautiful and the story is as great as it's always been. I never think much of our costume dramas but this was a great watch and worth tracking down if you can find it.
