I'm fine with her, I prefer the American versions, but she does a good job considering everything. Her as Bardock was the worst possible idea though. Just the dumbest.

Not that she was any better whenever I was 14 and randomly turned on JP voices on one of the tenkaichi games and heard her then, it was still p gross at that point too but hey

Who would people want to replace her as Goku's Japan voice actor/actress that wouldn't basically completely change the feel and tone of the character? I mean I can't say I wouldn't enjoy Koyasu's take on Goku but it probably wouldn't really fit.

I'm sure there's more than one person in Japan who can imitate Nozawa's voice which is probably who they'll get after she dies or if she decides to stop voicing the character soon. I mean they got someone for Doraemon after Oyama quit voicing the character, I doubt anyone's going to consider Goku's character and personality changed should Nozawa leave because the replacement will more than likely keep the same spirit.

Bringing an expert impersonator in to replace her to retain Goku's iconic voice, regardless of whether you like it, it is one, isn't going to fix any issues people have with the Japanese voicing. Different granny, still a granny. People who dislike Nozawa probably want him to sound manly but that creates a disconnect to me.

It's not going to fix it, I'm mostly just curious how they plan to handle Nozawa stopping at all. Unless you mean manly in the sense he should sound like he's a super badass, but I agree you don't need to grab that kind of voice for Goku. There doesn't need to be an extreme though, there are goony voices out there you can have men voice and it doesn't need to be boring. I'd say you can get someone like Yuichi Nakamura or even Makoto Furukawa, but that's just off the top of my head. It's an interesting thing to contemplate, for sure.

I don't know about "badass" per se, but to me, Goku only really works with the playful voice. I don't think that Sean Schemmel even does a bad job, but he's still more adult than Goku is to me.

Goku's a lot of things, tbh. He has to be this giant dork, but he's gotta also mix that in with being serious martial arts man sometimes and I think Schemmel does a pretty good job of capturing both. It might come down to a bias thing though as DBZ as a series is definitely one where childhood nostalgia can influence your opinion a lot more than you'd think, well for me anyways. I don't even really dislike Nozawa's Goku, I've gotten used to it by now, but Schemmel captures more than just the sort of goofier aspects of the character to me.

I think most people (who didn't grow up with Goku's JP voice) can agree that Goku's granny voice is really weird and really doesn't fit. Like I can understand the nostalgia factor playing in and stuff, but drat.

My favorite voice for Goku will always be Stephanie Nadolny who did Kid Goku in Funi's Dragon Ball dub. It's a real dick move on Funi's part that they never even contacted her about Kai.

I'm ok with just waiting on super and reading the cliff notes version that is the manga also I beat xenoverse and, while I liked it, I'm not sure I could call it good. I think there's a much better game in there somewhere and am hopeful for xenoverse 2. they should cut down the random bullshit a little. I don't see why the masters need to randomly appear, for starters
