None of the terrible music I listen to makes me feel down. For me it's more of a release for those kinds of feelings...a Catharsis if you will. :rimshot:
Though it's not always about the "feeling" at all, it can be about just the sound and arrangement.

It's cool how music can be lots of things to lots of people. We seem to have a lot of posters who play music in this thread, and from that perspective learning about new music that subverts the familiar yet stays familiar (heavy/riffy) is kind of a where I come at it from. But other times just a solid straight riff can blow you away. That space between simplicity(pure) and the new(interesting) draws me to this kind of music I think. It's hard to completely understand myself or to convey to others but here we are.

They were fairly boring live when I saw them, not too bad performance wise but the music is pretty aggressively uninteresting.

The thought of a new Church of Misery album had me concerned since Tatsu Mikami was the only remaining member now. Then he snags Repulsion's frontman, Scott Carlson to do vocals?!?!? Based off this initial track, it could turn out pretty drat decent. It's a different Church of Misery that's for sure.

I have one that I got with Grief's Infernal Flower with that artwork on it, but I don't think it's for sale separately.

The Holy Mountain one seems pretty fitting to me:
http://holymountainprinting.bigcartel.com/category/slip-mat

This is the one I'm rocking right now, not specifically doomy, just kinda metal in general:
http://alexandrianoel.bigcartel.com/product/skull-and-bats-vinyl-slipmat

Hell's Headbangers has a decent amount, mostly band-specific:
http://shop-hellsheadbangers.com/metal_slipmats_black_death_thrash_grind_heavy_doom.asp

I think doom slipmats are going to be hard to find without a lot of delving deep into different sites, but general metal ones are easy to find.

I pre-ordered Grief's Infernal Flower on vinyl too, but I don't think I got the one that came with a slip mat. Didn't have a use for it at the time :v: They've got a different one on their shop that I may go with, but I feel that this is a very important decision and must be made with the utmost care. Thanks for the suggestions, I do like that Holy Mountain one...
