Yup, seven nights a week, with hour-longs on weeknights, older 90 minute episodes on weekends.

The story I'm hearing is that somebody put a lot of effort into musical clearances (although it looks like they've muted the bump card music, probably because you've got to be able to name that tune to cut a check), so these are going to be as complete as you can manage these days. The only other thing they had to cut tonight was the original show name, because the Carson people don't own the rights to it, and it'd be a hard sell to talk NBC into a deal considering they're up against the first half of Jimmy Fallon.

Between this and the GetTV Monday night blocks (MERV!), this looks like it's going to be a good year for vintage TV fans. Now we really get to find out how well 30+ year old couch talk holds up.

Well it's about goddamn time! Oh god I'm going to heaven.

Edit: it really is a shame about the music, the house band is a major part of a late night show's character. I thought TV networks had blanket deals with music labels, but maybe they're just using versions that they've already edited for home video/streaming. Which would mean they're also using a canned opening... Aah I gotta see one of these.

Given the sheer amount of 'public domain' and "classic what-not" channels floating around on Roku, I imagined maybe this might be in a similar vein.

I saw Eddie Murphy's first appearance on Carson last night.

He was booked with McClean Stevenson who was prolly pimping his show "Hello Larry" AKA the show that ended Lt. Colonel Henry Blake's career and ultimately his life.

After Hello Larry went tits up and Match Game ended McClean had nothing left but to get cancer and die. :(

He could only do so many guest appearances on Fantasy Island and The Love Boat just to stock the fridge with food.

I enjoy using the phrase "That's Hello Larryous" to describe funny things.

You blaming "Hello, Larry" for McClean Stevenson's cancer puts a damper on that.
