That second agency there, Trinity Talent, says it's in Atlanta. But that's a Columbia SC phone number, so it's probably just someone's mobile. They more-or-less don't exist on the internet. They have Facebook and Twitter accounts, both dating to about 7 months ago, and both nearly devoid of content. The owner's Linkedin profile is over here, if anyone's interested in that. What I find interesting is their website, which launches from an ostensible rebranding on February 1st. Why would a business, possibly in existence since 2009, shut down their website for at least a month, instead of just leaving the old one around until the new one is done? I have no answers, only more questions. Like why that whois entry lists this woman in Louisiana as the owner of Trinity Talent instead of the person who comes up if you search for "trinity talent atlanta"? Finally, the website wants us to know that it's "proudly designed" by integrationsGA. And their website really wants to sell you a pre-packaged online casino and/or fantasy sports league(s). Is everything surrounding the film industry this skeevy, confusing, and quasi-legal, or is it just everything surrounding Star Citizen?

So this thread is beautiful and entertaining as hell and I'm trying to get up to speed on everything but I had two quick questions I haven't been able to find answers to. 1. What's the origin of the whole "Sandi won't hire you if you don't shave your pubes" thing? 2. Exactly what is the "PAAAARP" thing and the associated gary smiley? Thanks for the space-drama and laughs!

Rebel Assault 2 kind of holds up...a given when you're attached to one of the pioneers in visual effects so you can actually grade your greenscreen elements to fit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkbQnqXPFlU mdxi posted:Is everything surrounding the film industry this skeevy, confusing, and quasi-legal, or is it just everything surrounding Star Citizen? There are tons of actor agencies, often created by actors who can't get a break so either start acting schools or operate as an agent. Many aren't actual agencies but are merely a listing service, so you pay $50 for an on-line account. The scammy ones will charge you upfront, put you on a suspect contract and charge you monthly and then hassle you to bits wanting more cash for photos and so on and then change names. Bohemia Entertainment is kind of low in the pecking order. While they don't have thrillingly negative Yelp reviews they do write articles on their site with incredibly patronising articles that mocks the whole audition process and is rife with bad punctuation and spelling errors. A Neurotic Jew posted:it's everything around Ortwin Freyermuth, who transcends domains. Ascendant was a middle of the road success until Costner nearly ended him. Now all he can do now is provide some legal advice. I'm strongly suspecting he sees Chris and Sandi as ignorant suckers that he's pumping for cash as he's got just enough contacts to still be credible and knows enough about the system to play it.

"Phones that cost $599 cost a fraction of that to make, same with mid-range TVs that cost $599. There are a lot of mainstream devices in that price-range, so as you have said, our failing was in communication, not just price. "Our $600 product is better than their $600 product" wouldn't be a compelling argument if it were true. You don't get to cherrypick which products you wish to compare yourself to - how about comparing the Oculus to a loving computer with the same price

Not even the best part - to properly drive those screens at 90+ fps without wanting to blow chunks you'll want - well, two 980ti's would be nice for all the eye-candy. I suppose you could get away with two 970/290's if you didn't mind turning stuff down. But since the majority of the killer apps are in the future and will be more demanding, do you want to put your flag there? Don't mind spending money on entertainment - I mean, over in the UK the first HD telly I managed to get hold of was £2800 (or then roughly $5000) and friends and family got our moneys' worth out of it. But this would be - at current prices - 2200 euros to play four or five games by myself. Not really all that appealing. If it doesn't die on its arse we'll probably be able to pick up one for 400 or so when we're all kitted out with shiny pascals that'll drive that without breaking a sweat. Godspeed, early adopters.

Also Rebel Assault was the original CD drive killer app. p.s : thanks for the wonderful thread goons. I chucked $35 at this when it was on kickstarter, it was worth it for the laughs, I guess?
