Been looking into some things. Mainly Wulf bitching about his FOIA request to the FTC on CIG. Which is annoying because, well, this: quote:The FOIA does not apply to private companies https://www.ftc.gov/about-ftc/foia Now the FOIA is a complicated law and I am no lawyer but, you know, it seems pretty drat clear to me.

VenusRedux posted:Been looking into some things. It's not that. the wording of the response is clear. Whatever he asked for, thry can't provide. Especially if there was such an investigation. I covered this months ago. Also, he still refuses to show the sort of request he sent as that is also key to the response. He's a loving moron.

Ghostlight posted:The FTC isn't a private company and is subject to FOIA which is exactly why they have an entire section on their homepage extensively covering FOIA requests. Hope that clears things up. Yea, that's why I put it here to see what others thought. Didn't think about it literally saying don't go to a private company to request something citing FOIA. I wonder though if the FTC would reveal an active investigation via the FOIA?

"Hey, can you send me copies of any documents that support the innocence of CIG and any evidence that CIG will not be raided within the next 5 months?" FTC: "There are no such documents." or there just isn't an active investigation going on. Whatever

I'll have to admit, it takes a very deluded person to use a negative FOIA response like that. "Hey guys! The government told me nothing, this proves everything!"

Ravane posted:Confused why moby dickwulf didn't just submit an foia letter online - https://www.ftc.gov/about-ftc/foia/foia-request It doesn't matter in either case, a FOIA request is not going to reveal an active investigation that has not been made public, period end. It is loving idiotic to think it would because then every criminal enterprise would have people constantly submitting FOIA requests every month to see if an investigation was opened on them. They either 1) legitimately don't have anything on CIG, which can be true or 2) They are in the process of investigating them which means they will basically say they've got nothing on them because you don't want to give people you are investigating any indication they are being investigated. It proves nothing except, as per the usual, a Star Citizen is being mentally loving retarded and lacks anything resembling critical thinking skills.
