Not only is it a core promise from Kickstarter, but they emphasized the feature after Elite dropped it. Now the community manager just said they won't even think about it until after going live. gently caress this community. They deserve whatever they get.

It neither appears in the original KS campaign, nor the funding stretch goals. So they can definitely go back on that one without ramifications.

at this point, they can break the promises that were in writing too. star citizens will not care.

they will thankfully lap up whatever turd gets dropped to them, like mana from heaven, while defending the companies right to arbitrarily bail on stretch goals. for example, sq42 now being considered the primary game.

I know, but I don't think that counts. It's not in the campaign description and it's not in the stretch goals. Those are the only two places where it would have to appear for them to be held to it.

Heck, right off the bat they said it wasn't an MMO. Since then, and even in the current game description, they're saying that it is. So there is that.

quote:

Is Star Citizen an MMO?

No! Star Citizen will take the best of all possible worlds, ranging from a permanent, persistent world similar to those found in MMOs to an offline, single player campaign like those found in the Wing Commander series. The game will include the option for private servers, like Freelancer, and will offer plenty of opportunities for players who are interested in modding the content. Unlike many games, none of these aspects is an afterthought: they all combine to form the core of the Star Citizen experience.

Should I give it another hour or so?

Not caught up with the thread. But I am up to the point of the customer service email purge.

This is very amusing, given the light of Beer's email chain. Now they can say, without lying, "We have no record of that exchange."

That's kind of scummy, and really upsetting to all the people in the system with legitimate issues, but the choice for the Roberts' was obviously an easy one. Plausible deniability, backed up with no data to prove it did/did not happen.

Just removing that single email chain would imply guilt or render evidence that their VP of marketing is kinda terrible. In the light of a "full system purge", assuming the brunt of the email happened prior to 2016, now they can claim it was business as usual. Oh, and sorry but your email chain was lost too! Oops.

And of course, everything is perfectly fine. Here, buy some more pictures!
