i started watching Leverage and oh my god is it ever bad. The premise is good, smarty brain mans and his team take down corporations and judges and other robin hood-esque stuff.

The problem is it seems like it was written in the 80's. Shot in 2005. Then an editor from the 80's was unfrozen in time so he could edit the episodes together. SO you have this show with the production values of like Nash Bridges, but that technically looks like a modern show. All the titling, the way the music starts, everything about this show is from the wrong decade.

What the hell is up with Leverage??

I lost it when the M.E. got him suspended for just wandering into the morgue and doing his own autopsies. So what does Nygma do? Stuff a bunch of body parts in the guy's locker so he gets fired for stealing bodyparts. :unsmigghh:

Now if only Fish Mooney would die. I just watched the episode where she sporks out her own eyeball and the lead up to that was probably the best Fish content so far, but she's still an awful character.

Yeah she dead. I know that's a spoiler but by the dollMAHker plot that would keep me watching more so than her sticking around.

Been binging Person of Interest because there were so many recommendations earlier in the thread. I had watched a part of season 1 years ago, but while the 'case of the week' was fun, it never interested me enough to continue watching.

Now I'm through season 2 and it feels like the show is finally going places. Reminds me of Fringe, which I also discarded at first because I thought it would just keep doing the monster-of-the-week thing and then surprised me by having a superb story instead. Can I expect Person of Interest to keep going with its story or are things going to revert to the weekly case at some point?

The story definitely escalates, but every season has a few sections of consecutive case-of-the-week episodes. That might change with the next season (since it's a shorter run), but nobody knows.

As someone who originally ditched the series in season one and had to be talked into watching more.. It goes from strength to strength.

This is all accurate as hell. Wasn't it on TBS though? They never seem to cancel anything.

I watched that almost solely for the hacker guy and Parker. They weren't an ounce realistic, but they were adequately funny.

My urges are becoming...

UNCONTROLLABLE

There's a notice-able lull in the second half of season 4 but the reasons for that are quite apparent and it picks back up with the last 5 or so eps. Also echoing that S5 will likely be full arc plot due to reduced ep order.

In all fairness she sort of has to be dead if the show is gonna tie into the main Batman mythos since she doesn't exist in it.

I feel like the only person who kinda liked Mooney. Though if her being gone gives Penguin much more screen-time then I'm all for it. I haven't watched season 2 yet so is it true we might be getting a female Joker?

Okay, so here's the thing. Short answer: Not really. Long answer with plot twist revealed:We get a "Joker" in an actual character who never actually goes by it: Jerome. In the end, it kind of turns into an idea, as opposed to one person.

So has the show ruled out the comic version of one dude who becomes Batman's nemesis in favor of a Joker gang style thing like in Batman Beyond?

No. It plays it halfway. No one is a true Joker, but Jerome's chaos and ideas have spread in society. "The Joker" is a social meme that latches on and people manifest it. It's the show's way of leaving casting for the Joker up in the air and who he is/backstory open.

Well, we gave Prison Break Season 3 another chance, and binged through episodes 3-7 last night. It has definitely picked up. Not nearly as good as the first two, and not necessarily good at all, but at least it's entertaining again. With the new setting that makes Fox River look like a resort, the show has done a lot to humanize three of the major antagonists of Season 2: Mahone, T-Bag, and Bellick. I expect they're all going to be in on the Sona escape.

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe is almost hypnotically beautiful, even though her character is so evil. She looks like a cross between Jennifer Connelly and Tiffany Amber-Thiessen, and her crystal-blue eyes are piercing. I wonder if she's going to stick around.

Also, Sucre is the ultimate bro.

Now we've finished Prison Break Season 3 and are two episodes into Season 4, and it is INSANE. There's a whole new direction, new setting, pretty much an entirely new show, aside from the whole "let's get the band back together" aspect. They're essentially the Suicide Squad now -- Michael and Lincoln working with a team of people whose lives they ruined (and Michael Rapaport).

JUST SHOOT ME again. This one is hard to find and surely an underrated sitcom. By Steve Levitan (Modern Family). Most episodes are directed by Pamela Fryman who directed almost all of How I met your mother and a bunch of Frasier episodes. If you like sitcoms like Frasier, Cheers, Friends, Seinfeld etc then download this one. A ton of fun guest stars especially near the end of the show.

I always dismissed American Dad as a lovely Family Guy knockoff (and in some ways it definitely is), but I never gave it a fair shake

I made the mistake of watching the pilot of Scream Queens earlier.

Welp, now there's another show I have to watch. :dogbutton:

(I loving lost it at the (I'll spoil this for those who want to go in blind but it's not a big plot point AFAIK) girl that ends up texting the killer, he's standing right in front of her and texts 'I'm going to kill you now' and instead of running or screaming or whatever she texts back 'Wait whaaat' and then he stabs her. And THEN she drags herself to her laptop and starts writing a twitter about how she's being killed, almost gets it done, then he stabs her again and she dies. And THEN she regains consciousness one last time long enough to hit Enter and post it :magical:)

e: Also, Jamie Lee Curtis (the original scream queen?) is awesome as the dean of students.

Marathoned "I, Claudius" on hulu. Tremendous show. Amazing acting all around. Derek Jacobi was great, Brian Blessed was subtler than I ever thought he could be, Patrick Stewart was good as always, John Hurt was incredible, everyone's just amazing. The plot was intricate and complex, yet I always felt like I could follow it. Highly recommend it.

It's one of my favorite shows and I love everything about it except some of the GR stories. But I loved it from episode 1 so I can't really say whether it'll turn around for you or not. What I can say is that the consensus among critics is that season 2 is vastly superior to season 1.

I loved Leftovers as well but I felt like you need to watch 2-3 episodes before you get hooked. For me it was Matt's casino trip and Nora's NYC trip. That's when everything came together and it became amazing. It even made the first few episodes better upon reflection.

I watched Residue on Netflix. It was ok, mysterious and creepy, sure but I felt like it was a show that relied on nobody looking too much into it. It's the perfect binge show.

Also binged Sense8 over a day and good lord Max Reimelt is loving dreamy. Plus his character's name is Wolfgang and he's just so damaged, I can't stand it. I loved the hell out of this show and all the characters but whooo boy, Max Reimelt. I have also rewatched Sense8. It's that good.

Caught the newest ep of The 100 and it was great. Everyone should watch this show, it's ridiculous and amazing. I tried to watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and I really can't decide if I like this show or not. It's so cheesy and weird and every now and then it hits a good note but the overall experience is just not good? I want to like it. I just don't. The only parts I really enjoy are when they show bunker flashbacks or when she's with the other girls and they are crazy. Kimmy trying to act normal is stupid, Kimmy being crazy is great.
