i actually hosed around in rpg maker with an etrian odyssey clone. the idea was that you were all monsters instead of adventurers, and you were going up the labyrinth, not down. the only class i actually planned out was a dullahan, though. the gimmick was that they could pop their heads off and make them into a separate party member, with the body mostly tanking and the head providing supporting buffs.

Monster classes... Awesome idea! Possessed armor: Tanks, use the Revenge counter, which tracks damage taken in a bar that can be expended like TP for skills like Burning Revenge, Revenge Heal, Shield of Revenge, and more.

Class: Demon Gimmick: Blood Feast, a skill that adds life drain to all attacks and skills, powers up and adds additional effects to skills and makes the Demon lose 5% of it's TP each turn. Blood Feast is canceled when TP reaches 0.

Class: Samurai Gimmick: Lion Stance, Dragon Stance, and Swallow Stance. It's like a Ronin. Lion Stance: Activate with the Lion Slash skill. Focuses on powerful single target damage, and with Lion Guard and Lion Counter, can take an attack meant for a teammate and dole out a powerful counter. Dragon Stance: Slightly mage-y, focuses on elemental damage with Dragon Fire, Ice Slash, Thunder Chop, and gains Dragon Parry, allowing to negate elemental damage on the Samurai's row. Swallow Stance: Quicker, gaining action speed, accuracy and evasion bonuses. Swallow Gale, Raven Blade, and Bluejay Burst, can hit a row, pierce through two enemies, or hit the field. Less damage than Lion, but focuses on crowd control and quicker, multi hit attacks.

Best idea: Breakdance Fighter, frontline support with high evasion, buffs allies with sick dance moves that also damage enemies. Worst Idea: Cartographer, Passively fills in the map for you as you explore.

Watch your Bushi shoot a Shockwave across the ground to the enemies! Look at the multitude of arrows a Survivalist shoots! See a Ice Lance pierce through the ranks!
