I saw Thrice and La Dispute together in 2011 or 2012. It was excellent but I don't love Rooms of the House and I caught Thrice again at Riot Fest so I'll pass.

I saw La Dispute play with Hot Water Music and The Menzingers a few years ago and thought they were... bad. Never really could get into them, I always just turned to mewithoutYou when I wanted partial spoken word vibes. A lot of young kids left after La Dispute too and didn't stay for HWM. They were dumb.

Pittsburgh doesn't have a date (to be fair most places don't) so I figured I could do Philadelphia or that Columbus festival. I don't want to drive to Philly, but then I saw the other bands at the festival. Guess I won't be seeing ATDI this round.

AmEx presale started today at noon and I've been trying to get tickets for the last 30 minutes and it says none are available. Jesus, I'm going to keep trying but the regular sale is going to be awful.

edit: tickets already being resold for 120 on stub hub lmao

Considering they've announced new music coming as well, they have to do another tour right? I can't see them having it all ready to go for this one.

Didn't grab tickets for the Fonda and had work the next day, but my girlfriend was able to snag 2 tickets for the Paladium show and she surprised me with them when I got home! HUZZAH!

Any Los Angeles goons pick any up?

Edit:

This was a huge problem when I attempted to grab the Fonda tickets. The queue system was terrible and even when it said it was my turn to purchase, it kept saying the tickets weren't available.

My girlfriend said the same thing happened when she went to grab tickets via her phone, but magically she got a notification on the phone saying it was her turn to buy and she snagged them.

This is literally the most work I've had to put in to acquire tickets through an online system. Even grabbing tickets to go to Blizzcon was easier. At least when I had to get tickets for Blizzcon it wouldn't say it was your turn to buy and then freeze up and not allow you to buy any.

Trying to get these tickets was a huge pain in the rear end, but I managed to get tickets to the June 2nd show at the Palladium.

Buying tickets in Los Angeles has become such a loving drag. Either buy them super early (like, within the first 5 minutes) and commit to a show 6 months ahead of time, or just say gently caress it and miss out. I can't even enjoy going to the small art-house theaters anymore because every drat venue's congested with a billion people.

Also, the Palladium sucks, but ATDI are one of the few bands I'm willing to overlook that for.

I actually managed to snag a pair of tickets for NYC and I am trying not to get too hyped but I can't really stop myself.

I mean on the one hand the last tour seemed bleh and Cedric and Omar always talk about how they don't want anything to do with ATDI anymore but on the other hand

I've never been to the Paladium, but if I remember correctly I also have tickets to see Coheed and Cambria / Glassjaw there (I have so many shows to go to this year that I've forgotten where I'm seeing who at. Brand New + Modest Mouse, Thrice + La Dispute, and Coheed + Glassjaw in ONE loving YEAR). What's so terrible about it?

Bad sight lines and bad acoustics for the most part. The stage is pretty low so if you're on the floor, getting a good view is a bitch, and the venue was originally a seated venue, so the layout is really odd and doesn't handle audio really well.

Plus it's like right in hollywood, so drinks are more overpriced than usual for Los Angeles, and parking can get a bit expensive in that area.

if you dont have anyone in mind who wants it and get your press pass I would be interested. i tried to buy two tickets at 10 a.m. on friday but I put in the wrong zipcode because I have recently moved. the website wouldnt let me edit the zip. it was quite frustrating to watch the 10 min timer tick down while refreshing the main page to re enter my info, to no avail.

Hoping I can score two. When did tickets for the 6/14 show even go on sale? I stupidly forgot to check the band's website until the weekend, but neither concert was even listed on 930's late last week.

Last friday. They sold out within 2 minutes or so. I grabbed tickets to the (first) 9:30 show just in case I couldn't get tickets to the Nashville show (which sold out in about 5 minutes.)

Same here - I had no idea the 6/14 show went on sale and saw it was sold out. I have a meeting at 10 AM but hopefully my coworkers won't notice if I'm stealthily trying to buy tickets :getin:

Also sidenote, Ticketfly is now The Worst. It started as a cheap alternative to Ticketmaster/LiveNation, but now it's almost worse than Ticketmaster. 30% service fees for concerts are terrible.

That seems to be par for the course. Goldenvoice was a great alternative here in Los Angeles, but ever since they've blown up, it's the same song. FYF tickets were like 90 bucks 3 or so years ago. Now it's twice that.

I dug ATDI quite a bit but was obsessed with TMV circa Frances. Never saw them until I think 09 when they delivered a decent set but nothing along the lines of the Scabdates insanity. Somewhat underwhelming, but then they had their big fight with Pridgen the show after that so I guess it was by-the-numbers just to keep the wheels from falling off. I saw Free Moral Agents a year or two later in some hole and they killed it. Antemasque was in town but my level of interest was low enough that it being on a weekday kept me away.

That being said despite the 2012 reunion being whatever, I bought a ticket. I'll wait to see what the buzz is and maybe I'll flip it if the reviews are poor.

Listening to their live stuff they always seemed to be an album ahead, road-testing and improvising the stuff that would take form on the next record and jamming extended versions of old stuff (Drunkship and others). This was the Octahedron and they seemed to just play the back catalog note for note from the records, which shouldn't have been an issue, but I guess listening to Scabdates and bootlegs for a few years set my expectations too high.

Jim Ward, like everyone else, forgot Sparta was a thing and conveniently remembered just in time to use it as an excuse to get out of doing the reunion.

I love At the Drive-In and I never saw them live. I got tickets to see them but I guess Jim isn't there so I put them up to sell. I saw the stream of them playing at Cochella when they first reunited and is was boring. They didn't have any energy. All the videos i saw of them it was so crazy before breaking up they were so crazy. So I guess will never experience them.

The highlight of the Coachella stream for me was Jim Ward's goofy grin as soon as they started playing Arcarsenal. So yeah, I'm pretty bummed he's not with them anymore.

That said, the reviews of the re-re-union tour have been positive so far and gently caress it they're playing NY and I already have tickets so there's no way I'm gonna miss it.
