For our international players, extracting the digit refers to pulling your finger out of your arse (or rear end, depending on your location).

Doubt it. I don't think a team has ever gone winless in a season, for that matter.

No AFL team has done it, but 6 VFL teams have done it 13 times in total.

gently caress, I forgot how bad Bendigo were. I also feel really bad for Frankston because as a team they weren't that bad last year,it's just that of the stand alone clubs they're the weakest off the field so they struggle to bring people in.

It's funny, the last few years (Fyfe excepted) we've had Brownlow Medalists from teams that missed the finals (Watson, Ablett, Priddis in 2012-2014) but in the three decades before that there were only four others.

1983 - Peter Moore (Melbourne finished 9th with 9 wins and 13 losses)
1987 - Tony Lockett (St Kilda finished 10th with 9 wins and 13 losses)
1995 - Paul Kelly (Sydney finished 12 with 8 wins and 14 losses)
1999 - Shane Crawford (Hawthorn finished 9th with 10 wins, 11 losses, 1 draw)

Even taking Ablett into account, the least games the Brownlow medalist's team has won since 1981 is 8. All the way back in 1980, Kelvin Templeton won it at the Bulldogs with a 5-17 record, can anyone find a better example of good player/poo poo team than that?

Ahh, excellent. With this I can confirm that no, it hasn't been done before.

The closest ever was John Lewis at North Melbourne back in 1931 who finished 4th (17 votes, winner was Haydn Bunton on 26 votes).

Just noticed ex-AFL player Fev is gonna be on I Used to be a Celebrity. Interestingly, each celeb gets to pick a charity (presumably there's prize money or something I dunno I've never watched the show) but anyway, looks like Fev has picked the Shane Warne Foundation.

I wonder if he's gonna change his pick to a charity that still exists.

Awesome OP!

I still can't believe West Coast made the GF last year (and the way we played, I don't think the players did either). Part of me thinks that the whole thing was a fluke and this year we'll fall back to around 7-10th.

One thing I noticed in the OP, you haven't listed a coach for Port

Great work Hume, disappointed you don't agree with my assessment on Carlton's flag chances.

FWIW the current Roos deal sees three games played at Bellerive.

Surely that's ok? They say they can't train with them in any kind of official capacity or take any instruction from training staff, but that socialising is ok...it's a social event?

Also, when I was in America and talking sport and it came to what team I supported and I told them the Bombers, it really did get some awkward silences from them. I never even considered people wouldn't associate the word with WW2 planes dropping bombs (which Americans of all people should be behind). But the word to them immediately meant suicide bombers
