The permadeath thread on CIG forums owns: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/317101/this-permadeath-thing-has-got-me-worried Kerzic and Eldragon bring up the uncomfortable point that many of the features croberts has promised can't possibly coexist in the same game. The defense arguments range from "Chris is creating something completely new and amazing, don't you trust Chris?" to "maybe the answer is somewhere in the middle".

Saw this today, some guy swearing because he got caught not paying his roadtax in the UK, probably around £100 for a year for that car, so the tax people, the DVLA clamped it. I'm imaging the whales acting like this with their spaceships in Star Citizen when the game continues to be a pile of buggy crap and they find out CIG expects more money from them.

Also, how can anyone seriously say SC has "permadeath". Permadeath means when you die you're done, your character is loving dead, you lose everything. According to croberts, SC just penalizes you once in a while for dying. You don't lose your ships or any other poo poo you own, you just lose some money and reputation/exp. That's nothing more then a basic MMO death penalty.

Tippis posted:Already answered, I noticed but… for more details. The new Coen movie Hail, Caesar is set during this period of big studio productions. Haskell9 posted:I D/Led Elite and died three times to the basic combat tutorial mission because I couldn't figure out how to make the noob tutorial enemy not be constantly behind me because I suck at space more than should be humanly possible. I tried to fix it by scrolling through the 800+ key bindings with rapidly glazing eyes then went back to stealing spaceboats and shooting their owners/crashing them into other spaceboats in SC. Keep your throttle in the blue for maximum manoeuvrability. Yaw is deliberately nerfed so you need to use pitch and roll mostly, yaw is just good for minor adjustments. Use thrusters when pitching to gain an advantage in turning fights. Also helps to make use of your forward and back thrust to stay on their tail, if you feel like you're about to overtake slam on the brakes and it'll help keep enemies in sight. If you want you can switch FA off and spin around to shoot behind without changing your direction of travel, but be aware that movement is sluggish when doing this so you don't wanna be too close or they'll tear you a new one and turn around for another go. Get used to adjusting energy distribution on the fly - WEP increases the available weapon energy and recharge rate, ENG changes your top speed, SYS affects the shield resistance and recharge. If you're being shot at prioritise SYS then ENG, if you're the one doing the shooting you want pips in WEP. Check target details before engaging and see what kind of loadout they're packing. If you're going up against a ship with loads of turrets it's different to facing up to something toting big powerful front facing guns like cannons or plasmas. Don't be so quick to give up. The combat tutorials are much harder than most of the PVE fights in the game. Use the tutorials to get used to the controls. Toops posted:Things over at Solar Plebeian are progressing nicely. The video quality really ruins immersion, but this is just a lil' teaser: It will be amusing if a single guy can make a more functional and fun space game than the whole of CIG. And realtalk a space destruction derby game could be great. Psycho Society posted:I'm not sure how much design has changed, but last I was aware they wanted exploration to be a big thing, to the the extent that new systems would be discovered by players. But they were always going to have a relatively small number of systems. 100 systems is nothing for a multiplayer game if players are expected to explore as a mechanic. It'd take days, max, for those to be mapped out. The only exploration thing they ever really spoke about was finding new wormholes and that just sounded loving tedious. Never made sense why anyone got excited about exploration in this dogshit game, except that as usual people were projecting their own wildest dreams on the vague framework CIG had offered. If you want exploration in space then Elite or No Man's Sky have that covered. But I guess there will now be procedural generated Crysis planets packed with birds so you can go around with a pair of binoculars making notes about what birds you saw.

What?! His response to being clamped is to do more damage to his car than it is worth, and then proclaiming that he “won” over the “gorgers”. What is he on and is there a list somewhere that I can either sign to ban that kind of chemical WMD from the planet, or get some of my own?
