At this point I'm 80% certain that RtV exists to make sure that people are banned before streams where CIG tries to sell something.Gilganixon posted:i love that they even know about the stimpire, a piece of lovely fan faction written by one of the RSI forums lunatics I love that people are scouring this thread to seize keywords to identify goons. No person in their right mind would send a 'Making Of' book to press before having actually finished making what you went out to make. The reason must be that CIG wants to prop up the list of substantial progress and promises already delivered so they can continue denying people their rightful refund and later when the project implodes make it seem like they at least tried to deliver.

Kimsemus posted:Question of the hour: Is there a development studio or team on the face of the planet that could pull of Star Citizen? The big problem in SC is the mutually exclusive goals. You cant have both "Vast, detailed worlds accepting thousand of players" and "Private servers" in the same set of design goal. The necessary infrastructure for #1 automatically exclude #2 just as "fast, fun gameplay" cant be on the same page than permadeath or "procedural generated content" and "hand crafted, exquisite personal narative". They fail because they try to be everything to everyone and that's simply not possible and its boringly generic in its art direction. The new fuel truck bring an interesting problem. Either A : Fuel tank are small and distances are long so you need a fuel trucks for serious play, meaning one player in a group get to be the "healer" and fail at having fun or B: Fuel tanks are big enough you can have meaningful fun without the use of a fuel truck, so why are you wasting assets and time on a loving specialist case ? or (most likely) C : Death in a such a buggy game cant have hard penalties beside time, so just self destruct if you run out of fuel and re spawn at the nearest station. Meanwhile in E:D they have fuel tank modules and fuel transfer drones, so every ship, from the free 25T sidewinder to the massive 400T Anaconda can be a fuel truck if they want to.

"Making of Star Citizen" will be a coffee table book. It will be about 10 meters square and have zero mass. You open it up and it unfolds into a coffee table with the most complicated animation possible. <<USE>> to turn the page. At which point the book flies out of your house at parp drive.

The mouse might be tempted to do a "soft sim" with spaceships now that it has another trilogy goign on, but its goign to be on all consoles. Also keep in mind than according to the last published numbers, E:D has sold more units than SC has backers, so that market might be pretty saturated about now.

Hey Guys, Sandi Here. The design of each page of the book has to go through the pipeline before we submit it to the book. You can buy the binding and cover of the book for $200 and when we release the individual pages you can merely purchase them for $10 a page(BACKERS ONLY). You can then opt to have us print on delicious card stock paper for a $5 surcharge per page. Or you can even print them yourself for a $4.50 licensing fee. An additional $2.75 will remove the CIG watermark that covers the entire page. We also have the "Completionist" Package of the book for $25,000 which includes a voucher for 50% Off the price of pages.

I only watched for a couple of minutes but I caught the bit about them wanting their fans to tone down the arguing with non-fans on "click-bait" media pieces. Interesting they feel the toxic community of nutters is going to put new backers off, bit late to worry about it now though. Another reason this thing is like a bloody cult is the limited vocabulary such as "click-bait" available to the loonies, they all sound the same and by "the same" I mean demented. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-6rLUwawQ0&t=235s

So here's a question. There are ~300 people working at RSI/CIG/Whatever. What the gently caress do they actually do? Figure 10 of them are involved in the lovely web-shows and forum bannings. What the gently caress are the other 290 people doing that produces NOTHING right now? Everything since the babypoop was released has been nothing but tweaks and minor fixes.
