I got called a sellout by a person claiming to be a "Purdue fan" because I thought Toyota winning the race was cool. ... Toyota and Subaru have plants in Lafayette which actually contribute to their local economy. Why people would hate Toyota makes no sense to me.

I used to watch NASCAR around the late 2000s, and I guess I just kind of fell out of it for some reason, but I'm looking to get back in. I've watched some Youtubes of the Keselowski feuds with Harvick, Hamlin, Gordon, and Kenseth, and I'm wondering if there's a reason to dislike him other than he's a young, hot-head chaos racer? I kind of have a soft spot for chaos racers, and I don't tend to be fond of the veteran "enforcers" of made-up sports standards, and that's kind of the narrative I got from my viewing, but I don't want to be wrong and start rooting for an actual headhunter. Also Kasey Kahne was my guy way back when, does he still have smoke coming out of his engine once a race?

Brad would be alright to pull for. He's actually in the running to be my replacement favorite driver. The dislike of him is sort of strange, as he never struck me as as abrasive as Kyle Busch used to be. I grew to like him because he's one of the few drivers (along with Stewart) who would openly criticize NASCAR for their stupidity. He's not a headhunter, as I don't remember any time he's just flat-out dumped someone. Hamlin's bullshit was stupid because it was a race he shouldn't even have been in, Edwards screwed himself at Talladega by turning across Brad's nose (which started their war), Gordon should've been tighter to Jimmie on that restart at Texas (this coming from a Gordon fan), etc. As for Kahne, he's dropped off badly in performance despite going to HMS. Part of last year could've been most drivers of dirt track backgrounds (Gordon, Smoke, Bowyer, Larson, Kahne) struggling with the aero package, but it's not what you'd have expected of him at Hendrick.

I was hoping to find someone like that that sees a window and just goes for broke for it. It makes it more fun as a rooting interest, although when you wreck in such a tremendous fashion I can see how it would be frustrating to the other drivers. Hope Kahne gets back to his old self too. But if the finishes are like the finish today it'll be a fun season no matter what happens.

That really had a lot to do with this finish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3b2WgTk-9M ...in which Regan Smith should've been declared the winner because he was forced below the yellow line but wasn't Because NASCAR. So when Carl tried to force him down, Brad did what Smith didn't; held his line. e- Come to think of it, it's also partially the fault of the yellow line rule and its enforcement. If you wonder why we rip on this sport: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqk8UyN3fU8 CBJSprague24 fucked around with this message at 05:46 on Feb 22, 2016 |

Brad K is a bad driver with a lovely attitude problem who wrecks people and then has his dad go on national tv and say he (the dad) is gonna whip a driver's rear end.

Going back and watching the finish, DW was once again pretty blatant in pulling for one driver over the other. He was outright rooting for Truex and basically screams "NAWWW" when Hamlin wins.
