I've been using KeePass+Dropbox coupled with KeePassDroid for my phone. I haven't tried the others because I got really, really good at using KeePass and fear change.

Dashlane Premium is $40/year and my favorite of the choices out there. Their automatic password changer is pretty cool to see in action. Doesn't support every single website out there yet, but it gets a lot. The android app is really slick, can fill in apps as well as Chrome. Gets a lot of active development, fixing bugs and improving things.

Alarm Clock Plus has been consistently not setting off my alarm unless I actively toggle it off and on the night before, despite the alarm being set to go off every weekday at the same time. It's also pretty ancient and probably hasn't been updated in a couple years. What's the new hotness in alarm clock apps?

I like the math solving feature of ACP, but it's not a deal breaker for updating to a newer app. However, the ability to set labels on alarms and use music instead of preset alarms is a deal breaker.

While I still use Timely because I can't give up my prealarm, I'd really like to try AlarmPad. Its gimmick is Calendar integration and there's beta G+ group.

What's the good syncing 2FA app that some people here use that isn't Authy, is it Authenticator Plus? For some stupid reason the Authy app is locked to portrait which makes it useless on my Pixel C so I'm going to need to finally get around to switching.

Is there any easy way to import my existing accounts or do I have to do the disable/enable dance on all my services?

Authenticator Plus is both cool and good, but you do need to manually reset your authentication seed to rescan, assuming whatever service doesn't make it available for later use. There isn't a way to import already established two factor accounts that I'm aware of, but unless you have a ridiculous amount it shouldn't take too long to set everything up!

Yes, it's Authenticator Plus and you'll do the dance if you're using Authy now. You're really going to like the Wear component.

I've got a music key subscription from the US and I'm currently in Nicaragua. I've had no issues. I'd suggest pinning a few stations/albums but I've listened to random things when I'm on wifi with no issues. Getting good enough data speeds is a different issue to deal with obv.

I have Sleep as Android - does the alarm still go off if you don't enable sleep tracking the night before?

The only non-root option is Helium and it's spotty at best. If you really want to back things up that doesn't use Google's system (and not nearly enough games do), you really have to root and use Titanium. It's a really lovely situation unfortunately.

Yeah you can ignore all the fancy features and alarm works just fine. It's as complicated as you want I guess, and you can ignore all the crap you don't care about pretty easily.

I tried Helium for the first time this week when migrating to a phone that I didn't want to root. It's certainly not as good as Titanium, but it did a fairly good job of moving most apps over. There were a handful that it didn't even detect (Facebook being the most glaringly obvious), but it did better than I expected for a non-root solution. Backup remains Google's biggest missing feature.

If you're interested: Helium is just a Wrapper for ADB backup which an app can explicitly exclude itself from. Google Authenticator, for example, does so and that kind of makes from a security perspective. I don't know why Facebook would be excluded but I imagine it's probably because Facebook actively hate their users. So this isn't a bug or flaw in Helium, it's actually the intended behaviour.

Anyone have a recommendation for an SSHFS client that won't steal my SSN and email horrifying porn to all my contacts? I've got Astra and Juice SSH, but neither supports it. The other two file browsers are purported to support SAMBA or FTP, but not SSHFS.

There are a bunch of recommendations in Google Play, but I figured I'd ask before downloading some at random.

I'm sure it does, I just couldn't get the hang of PA's workflow, or something. I tried it out back when I thought the bluetooth bug I was experiencing was due to a specific player, and I just didn't care for it, although I can't remember exactly why. I suppose I could try it again, but then I think of adding all my podcasts again and ...:effort:.

Solid Explorer wasn't that solid for me :(

Whenever I streamed mkv videos from my NAS to MX Player Pro, it kept dropping the connection after a while.
I changed to Explorer (Root Explorers non-root version) and never saw that problem again.
I tried Solid Explorer again as recently as a month ago, and it still drops connection 10-20 minutes into the stream.

I use File Manager by Cheetah (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm)

It's not the nicest to look at, but I use the SMB/FTP functions for transferring stuff from my server and it works well. It has every feature I've ever needed including root functions. I also like how you can customize the toolbar to hide unused features. The non-ad version was $3 I think.
