I get antenna TV as my primary television. As such, a lot of ads on the sub-channels and locals end up being As Seen On TV, Insurance, mobile games and law ads. So, I'm working on something and a commercial comes on in the background.

Well, the commercial was so incredibly specific I sort of stopped what I was doing to listen to it more: Class action lawsuit for NFL players who suffered concussions.

It's not a bad commercial or anything, but it seemed so odd.

This commercial is obnoxious as gently caress, esp because I know a coworker who now receives a doctoral stipend and the Ph.D was through Phoenix which is kinda galling on a few levels

About 250 people get drafted by NFL teams every year. Given that you can't play until you're 22 and not a whole lot of people live past 85, let's just say there's 63 years worth of players walking around this Earth. I'm going to assume that one of the 4,000 living pro football players did not see that commercial.

You might as well be having a commercial directed solely at Powerball winners.

There was also apparently a settlement deal already floating out there with about 5000-6000 former players as part of it with only a few (100-200) that are not part of it. From what I think I remember from the tone of the commercial, it sounded almost like they were going for viewers who haven't agreed to the terms of any of the NFL settlements, so that's an even smaller population, I guess?

I'm going to keep my eye open to see if it comes up again in the next few days so I can maybe record it or something.

I wonder who sponsored it. Most of those class action ads come from the same few law firms who buy ad time in bulk and just put up different maladies every so often.

It seems to be a law group called the Kyros Law Group.

According to their website, it looks like they might also be putting together something for WWE/WWF wrestlers, too, but I've not seen an ad for that yet.

WWE wrestlers should sue because their working situation is insane. They make the company millions of dollars just through merchandising but despite all that they're all "independent contractors" so WWE doesn't have to provide benefits like healthcare.

The ad was cute the first time, but I am tired of the commercial with the girl singing about going to college to the tune of "If I Only Had a Brain" from the Wizard of Oz.

This is the worst commercial ever. I'd rather take a million more ads about prescription drugs with terrible side effects, asbestos and pelvic mesh-related claims cases, cleft palates, abused animals, St. Jude's leukemia patients, and poor African children; than to ever see this commercial again. It's on all the time. :fuckoff:

They also make the burgers look like they're the size of a woman's head. I can't imagine wanting to go to a Carl's Jr/Hardee's. I'm really not sure why they show their commercials around here, the closest one is in New Jersey.
