Tough to say really, I personally enjoyed it although it's pretty forgettable. I think you should give it a shot.

The story is just bad though.

the way to play absolution is to think youre angry hitman and p much kill anyone that isnt a cop or civilian

using instincts as a quasi bullettime and actually getting that first headshot bullet time to chain more headshots feels pretty good

e:
also the instincts point and shoot mode is p good to blow up cars and explosives instantly
absolution made a good redneck massacre simulator than murder sim

Absolution is alright if you go in with really low expectations and can get it cheap. It's a fun game, just not a fun Hitman game.

Talk about damning with faint praise though.

Making of is pretty good too.

Yep, Hitman 2 is frustrating. The dreadfully slow sneak-move speed [...]

The best (worst?) example for this is the second Japan mission, the one where you are trying to get into the snow castle. At the very start there is a guard not that far away, but he's patrolling in a very open area with just some slim trees to hide behind. If you do so and start sneaking the moment he passes there is just enough time to catch up to him and take him out before he turns around and starts patrolling the other way. There is half a second of leeway at best. Never before has moving at the speed of a geriatric person been that tense.

If I ever install Hitman 2 again I'm just going to take out everybody with a silenced pistol shot to the head.

Except the embassy level. I played the demo with that level to death, so I could almost Silent Assassin that one with my eyes closed.

The marketing for this new game has been absolutely top notch with the trailers and this new thing, I gotta say.

They should have just had Diana's VA do all the directing though, that would have been ace.

Blood Money is very very forgiving while many of HItman 2's levels pretty much have exactly one way to do them without just killing everyone. Japan is the biggest example of this, but also some of the St. Petersburg ones.

Gonna pre-load this tonight and re-play Absolution. I didn't like it, but for some reason I really want to play it again.

Also what was with that new Hitman film? Dude has a skinhead, but when agent 48 shows up at the end they splashed out and made him completely bald? Christ, that film was bonkers in the best way. I hated it, don't get me wrong. But there's little bits that made me laugh so hard. Like during the escape he kills one dude, drags him into an office and immediately re-appears in disguise. That was great.

Yea I like theres an option for paying per episode, that way they really have to release the other episodes in a timely fashion.

I will probably wait for impressions then give the cheap version a go

There is also Steam refunds if you buy it straight from Steam. Play it less then 2 hours, if you didn't like it, refund it. Works for any game, as long as you don't abuse the system. I have a theory that you get more refunds approve if you ask for steam wallet credit instead of back to account.

Heck yes. I enjoyed the Hitman 2 movie as well. They literally had to invent a X-men character just to give him a fight. The movie actually had him going out on a actual hit or two as well.

e: is it possible to kill targets with only the sniper rifle in BM without resorting to a) super cheese like shooting them in the back or sedating them and shooting them later or b) getting your cover blown

I loved assembling that sniper rifle, so I went through each stage looking for a practical reason to use it. The only stage I found where you can use the sniper rifle to get silent assassin and it isn't more difficult than fiber wire or silenced pistol is House of Cards. From the German guy's apartment you can snipe the person who inspects the package through his window. You may or may not also be able to snipe the person you meet when you drop off the package (Mohammad Bin Faisal Al-Khalifa according to Hitman wiki!), I always fiber wired him. I think you had to save the sniping for last, or it would screw up the trade.

Spent my walletfull, on a jpeg, desolate, will croberts make a whale of me yet?
I was just on the murder of crows mission and I made a conscious decision to not save or reload if I hosed up at any point, holy poo poo it was so cool.
So first off I went looking for the sniper crow first, he could be in one of three places at the beginning but I was just bumbling around checking out the map and came across an apartment that I hadn't been in before and came across some guy watching TV on his couch, I sedated him and had a look out the window, well what do we have across the road in another building?

It's only sniper crow! It's a pretty decent range from here to sniper crow and I haven't brough the sniper rifle but I manage to score a headshot from across the way with my silverballer, one down.

As I leave the apartment and head downstairs into the courtyard the red briefcase crow is stood right next to the dumpster, holy poo poo this is great! So I fiber wire him but because of the lovely controls I can't get him into the dumpster quick enough and suddenly the suspicion meter is yellow, as I finally chuck him in I turn around and the female crow target is running at me, I score a sick headshot and a puff of feathers fly everywhere, no one saw anything, one more to go.

I run off with the case and get inside mark purchezzi's building, up the stairs but i forget that dropping the briefcase on the table makes the guard hostile for some reason, gently caress it i'm not realoding now, I headbutt the guard, wrestle his uzi off him and fill them both with bullets, hide in the closet and wait till the guards have cleared out from downstairs.

Then it's a straight shot to the escape.

Proffessional rating / 11 shots fired/ no witnesses.

You can also kill the shiek by going into the guy who inspects the package's room and calling the shiek on the phone. He'll appear down below you having had to sneak off the casino floor to take the call. From there it's an easy shot with the rifle.
