My company in Chicago is looking for someone. The role is half accounting/finance and half tech which is basically some IT management if you could call it that, you're the only IT resource for an office of half a dozen people. It also involves learning FileMaker which is what we use for a lot of work flows. Entry level so no experience required, pay also correspondingly low however. Posting is here.

Phones (3com, don't laugh), servers (mix of Windows and Linux), desktops (Windows and Macs). Main office, 3 remote offices (London, Paris, Los Angeles). Looking for a job: My experience: Been in the IT industry for over 9 years. Worked my way through break/fix and helpdesk and spent the last four or so years primarily as a Network Engineer with some systems experience as well. We're a small ISP who also offers datacenter services (colo/hosting, currently Xen/FreeBSD based), and looking for someone to take charge of the design and implementation of these products. I work for a pretty big CRO with a global presence, and our US offices are in VA, NC, PA, and KS among other places. We're looking for the following...
If you have no life sciences experience but have worked in regulated industries you'll probably be fine for the mid-range positions, but the Oracle DBA role probably will require some experience in the life sciences sphere. Jobs aren't always required to work out of their posted location -- mine was posted for NC but I work out of PA. They are also very flexible about WFH and for the right candidate would do remote hire. Currently looking for a job Experience: About 3 years of desktop support stuff. I'm familiar with Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, some virtualization stuff, networking, scripting, and automation. Must have linux background, and be able to talk coherently to a customer. There's really no other qualifications. Salary is pretty good. I really love my job. I'm not sure this is the right thread, but I'm looking for an IT position as well so I can get my foot in the door and hopefully move up to having as much experience as some of you guys do! Experience: MS Office proficiency (2013/2016), basic troubleshooting and resolution experience with Windows and OS X systems, and significant troubleshooting and networking experience with Android and iOS devices. (Not sure how to translate a whole bunch of time at Geek Squad and then doing technical support for Apple. I've also been through Navy nuclear power training, if that speaks anything towards my merits.) Education: Currently attending an accredited technical institute in York, PA, and I have an A+, Sec+, Net+, and CCNA in the pipe. Where I Live: York, PA. A lot of the sales folks know very little about technology, and definitely feel uncomfortable with software in general since they're used to selling hardware. I try to keep things interesting for everybody in the team as best I can so you don't feel stalled/stagnant, but there's a limit to what falls under desktop support. Title change type of growth typically only happens when a position you want is vacated, you apply, go through the normal interview process, and get offered the position. Haujobb applied for and got an opportunity in my org's Windows server team when it became vacant. Within the campus as a whole there are a lot of IT groups - not just my org. If you feel like it's time to grow and nothing is available within the org you can check out other on-campus IT groups for openings, stay on campus, and retain benefits / years of service. Many people have done this as they grow their careers.
