This leaves Lanka, Machaka and I, flailing for victory amidst a sea of AIs. This makes things a lot simpler honestly, and I rush for the last thrones I need. I send my PG south to go for the throne in the Yomi cap circle, and have a separate death ball go for the ivy men throne in Van's cap circle. The final map:  Lanka has a weird shape going here and Vanheim actually got domkilled on the final turn.  The province graph. You can see my constant expansion and my dip when Van started hitting me, then my recovery as I cored out Van from its heart.  I just kept seizing and making forts.  I was absurdly wealthy it felt, and the graphs proved it. An early expansion is super important. Also you can tell the point where Van actually had no forts at all. I call it the 'panto-crater'.  I always felt sort of starved for any gems but earth. Once I took the van cap my air gem income was also up there, but I only had some A2 mages from a throne to use it with. Mostly I made quills and birds with them. My E, W and F income basically went to a constant stream of earth elementals, living mercuries and magma children. I never got any globals up, either due to lack of income or insufficient caster skill.  Well... uh... this was probably a bad sign. A lot of my mages ended up leading my magical armies of magical summons and near the end getting researchers outside of having auto-hired sages at the Throne of Knowledge wasn't a big deal because I was rushing the thrones. Machaka had a huge research lead from lightless lanterns and being largely unbothered. But I won anyway. NERDS.  I kept making temples and taking thrones I guess. Also my PG had Dom9 and was constantly on the move, spreading that dominion as he rampaged.  I spent a lot of time making dudes. It was my first game of Dominions 4 with real people. I won it.

Great Olms are loving scary and I was bluffing my pants off because I was thinking "oh my god if he invades me right now im hosed". Also you got my bless wrong, I had earth 9, not death 9. Earth 9 gives my guys +5 protection and +4 reinvigoration, basically their armor is better and they dont get tired as quickly

I did check after and I had a site that revealed 'mundane graphs' that mostly showed me I was crazy rich. It didn't show research so I assumed that was the bad one. If it makes you feel any better I am getting dog piled in the actual newbie game; when I was asking in irc about the rush-ability of nearby nations (before I knew the answer to that was 'with w9 white centaurs just rush whoever) the Caelum player saw me asking about his nation's vulnerability and made me out to be the tri-bless Van of the game probably. I ended up setting on C'tis to attack but by then he was already gearing for f o r e v e r w a r on my unholy nation. White centaurs are good, but not 4 on 1 dogpile good.

It killed most of its own army casting Rain of Stones to clear out my 20 pts of PD while all my armies stayed inside because I had no idea what his trick was going to be. He has no additional commanders, no astral, and is in my white candles with disease standing over a claimed throne, temple and my prophet and a ton of preaching dudes.
