I thought Star Citizen was going for a late 80s-early 90s look, since that's the last time when Croberts was relevant. That would explain why the in-ship interfaces have large buttons and tiny screens. Seriously what's with the future having tiny 10-inch screens everywhere? Even the original Deus Ex made a half-assed attempt at futuristic computer screens.

You understand nothing about super cool games development.

Thread is moving too slow. I am very disappointed. As such, it is fully to blame for the wiki-walk I went on after being inspired by the last one I did. This time the question was, if Chris did so little on his marquee games, who did the stuff he's famous for? What's his “production posse”? Some familiar names turned up, and some that should have been familiar were never heard from again… Wing Commander (1990) • Erin Roberts: Design, QA, dogfight choreography (Amiga, SEGA CD), • Warren Spector: Producer, documentation & reference editing • Steve Cantrell: Writing, dialogue, story, QA, gameplay documentation & reference, documentation & reference editing, additional writing (Amiga, SEGA CD) • Paul Isaac: Programming ↳ Secret Missions I • Spector: Documentation, producer • Cantrell: Design, writing, implementation, QA, documentation • Isaac: Programming ↳ Secret Missions II • Spector: Documentation • Cantrell: Documentation, special thanks • Isaac: Programming Wing Commander II (1991) • Spector: Documentation, documentation design & graphics • David Ladyman: Documentation design & graphics • Stephen Beeman: Director, story, software engineer • Ellen Beeman: rear end. director, script, story ↳ Special Operations I • Ladyman: Packaging design & graphics • E. Beeman: Story, script, documentation, cons. director ↳ Special Operations II • Ladyman: Packaging design & graphics • E. Beeman: Story, script, documentation, cons. director ↳ CD ROM Edition • Roberts: Design, QA • Ladyman: Documentation Design & graphics, packaging design & graphics • Cantrell: Additional Documentation, QA, design, writing, implementation, special thanks • S. Beeman: Programming, design, software engineer, story, director • E. Elms: Original concept, game deisgn, art direction, mission design • S. Elms: rear end. project coordinator • Peterson: Game design, rear end. producer Freelancer (2003) • Isaac: Lead programmer Funny observations: the only one who seems to have lasted from start to finish is Paul Isaac, working his way up from programmer to lead programmer (with a brief stint of doing everything on Strike Commander) — not even Chris managed to go all the way from WC1 to Freelancer. Ladyman has been around writing manuals for a loong time, the poor guy. The best Wing Commander story (WC2) appeared in the game Chris had the the least to do with, and the Beemans, who actually wrote it, never appear in any of his productions since then. Oh, and the WC franchise had a really good concept artist… once.

Make the Goonrathi and the Sperg be like the Marines and the Chaos Marines: one (goonrathi) is a twisted copy of the other. The working idea is each race has their own variants of the same ship classes. Below is my wish list. The idea of having 15 different original, fully modeled ships is overly ambitious, and I just need one class per race for what I'm calling the "Alpha 0.1.0 vertical slice". What general kind of design elements might you want to see and what is the lore of the Sperg faction?
