It's not shocking that this massive boulder that he's crushing in his palm, which is, what, twice the size of a person(?), would result in stone buckshot capable of obliterating both buildings and people alike over a wide area. If his pitch is literally breaking the sound barrier, we're talking superpowerful artillery here, so it's no surprise it's absolutely wrecking everything, especially when he keeps doing it.

It's very possible they hid under reiner's body to shield themselves. Hange pointed out in one of the first chapters how titan bodies still wiegh about the same as a human

Looking at this one way, if they kill the beast titan the battle is effectively won, because Eren and the rest of the main characters can simply retreat outside the walls and wait for Bertholdt to run out of steam.

I mean at this point I fully expect the named characters to survive - maybe Erwin is critically injured but ends up getting the titan serum and Marlo just lucks out - but they shouldn't. There's no sign of Hange yet (unless she's piloting Reiner  ) but I don't doubt she's alive too. People have to start dying otherwise all these poignant sacrifices will become hollow and we'll end up in a One Piece situation.

Did anything useful happen this chapter or are they still locked in pointless combat with the ape titan that has no real significance to the story and is only serving as yet another delay to the basement? I only ask because the 5 minutes it takes me to locate a non-crunchyroll scan is important to me.

No real significance? Ape Titan is shaping up to be a primary antagonist. He has to know the secrets of Titanification and is clearly the leader of the warriors that is sent to destroy the walls. I am confused on how you can think this battle is just filler, I can understand not liking the pacing or whatever, but this battle seems to be the climax of this part of the story.

It's been a while since I've done a reread of the series and somethings bothering me that I don't want to go back and check. I seem to remember that during the very beginning of the series Eren dreams of Frieda Riese, but how could he have obtained memories of her if he didn't eat his father until after the attack is over? Am I misrembering speculation and it was just Mikasa or has it not been explained? In fact, did we ever get any kind of explination for the title of the first chapter?

Why is Annie called "The Female Titan" if there are clearly female titans, like the broad-shouldered, barrel-chested woman with a Black Hole Sun smile in this issue. Really Annie's unique trait is she's "The Female Titan That Actually Has Breasts."

Thanks for telling the "let's read this comic" thread that your too good to read this comic, buddy. Chapter was good. Badass way for Erwin to go out. I don't know if Levi's plan will work but they still have those other Titan vials and if Levi manages to eat Monkey Titan then the sacrifice if the rest if the Scouts won't be in vain- that would be a huge win. Assuming it goes down like that, I guess.
