My two fuzzferbrains when they were adorable, instead of just assholes. I love them dearly, and I'm pleased to admit that Smokey is still pootling along, though she occasionally trips over her own feet.

I have cats, and I think they are cute, so I must share. Émilie du Chātelet Kelsier. Half Bengal & afraid of everything. He's huge, 18 or 19 pounds. As a kitten: And with a terrible picture of me when my husband wanted to show someone how big he was. Kelsier plays fetch, but also has a hoarding problem. (this is usually a lot worse) And finally, Vin. She's our chillest cat. Bonus all three of them together

I am blessed with three cats that all sleep like this, and all adore belly rubs. (The third is sadly camera shy.) They are soft, and fluffy, and therefore perfect cats.

It's a bit of an unconventional request given the usual content of this thread, but I remember back when it was the "Cute, Inspirational, and Uplifting" thread and this definitely fits in that domain. Does anyone have pictures or accounts of people being the first [minority] to achieve something, or just of minorities overcoming great obstacles in their lives even if they weren't the first to do so? I'm not saying stop posting aminals.

I'm not saying stop posting aminals. Here's a repost of a post I made in the old thread. It may not be as dramatic a thing as you're looking for but it's pretty inspirational to me, it's pretty much why I get up and go to work every day. A bit of background: I speak Breton, a minority language spoken in northwestern France. From the late 1800s up until the mid-1970s Breton children were severely punished, even beaten, for speaking Breton at school, even amongst each other during recess or lunchtime. This severely traumatized several generations of people who were ashamed by their language. It wasn't until the mid-90s until it became broadly acceptable to admit in public to speaking Breton. I'm not originally from here so I don't have this sort of thing in my family history but I've heard tons of heart breaking stories from old people in tears telling me about how they spoke the language but forgot it because of this treatment or how they would really love to learn it but trying to learn it brings back painful memories of being punished or seeing their classmates punished. Nowadays it's much more acceptable and every year there is a 1500km relay race to raise money for Breton medium schools. This year the organizers are asking for 1500 pictures of Breton speakers, one picture for each kilometer of the race. What I find adorable and uplifting are the pictures of old people who certainly either were punished or saw classmates punished but now feel comfortable enough to speak the language in public and to present this fact to the world. All of the signs they're holding say "I speak Breton, how about you?" in Breton and various other languages.

Cats? Here is Gandalf as a kitten, with Stage 1 floof. He is not a smart cat. He likes to help me draw, though. And then he likes to stretch out for a bit. Then there's Qubit and Kitty. Both are pretty camera shy, but sometimes I can sneak up on them while they're sleeping, or involved with da bird. Qubit likes to shove his head in the weirdest places. Kitty likes belly rubs. It is never a trap. Also:
