Infinite Jest didn't tie everything up in a bow, either. I think this is Good. The last dialogue is an echo of the way Problem Sleuth ended- cool quips and poses. You wanted a long capstone boss battle? You already had it. We've been watching it play out for all of Act 6. This is the epilogue.

EDIT: It's actually not THAT bad but boy howdy everything since the Omegapause has seemed rushed as gently caress (storytelling-wise, not really "actually-making-it"-wise), this included.

you can talk all you want about "eschewing narrative structures" but this doesnt even begin to touch on why, in their moment of triumph, the kids abruptly stopped cold and said "hey lets go fight that little skull kid douchebag and get trapped in a house instead"

Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. Also that was pretty clearly the pilot/test footage for whatever Homestuck: The Animated Series they've mentioned in the past. Netflix, you know what must be done

Hey, since I might not get the chance again, I thought I would ask. Does anyone else remember the time that somebody registered a url that was in Homestuck to redirect to their Homestuck porn thing, and we made fun of it, and they came into the thread to defend themselves and got permabanned? That was the best thing to ever come out of this thread. It's not child porn if you draw it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm honestly so unhappy by this update I'm not even enjoying myself off schadenfreude over you guys being unhappy with it. That's how bad of an ending it was. I can't even point and laugh at others for expecting something good.

I joked about how great it would be if Lord English won in the end but even then I'd expect him to win decisively, not just hint at the possibility that he might've and let you draw your own conclusions. What if the conclusions we draw suck, huh? What then?

I thought it was amazing. It's not very hard to tie the threads together -- it's not open ended, the framework was throughout the comic. The glitch and juju being English's end, from the first intermission and the last acts. The kids populate the new universe. Some of those worlds are wiped out by Caliborn's dad. Caliborn contaminates sburb, which exists in its own stable time loop, leading to the Alternian (blue) session, the Beta/Alpha session (red/green), and the final combined session (white), linked up somehow by Muse of Space Calliope's three orbs that generate the singularity that consumed her and the green sun. Some mechanics aren't clear, but the broad strokes work fine for me.
