He's very much a product of the Internet.
He's not like most of the usual Internet suspects whose just there to scream about how girls don't like him, he has a wife with her own blog and a working knowledge base. He's about understanding all the life around us and how even if we find it gross has its own part in the ecosystem and amazing unique biology, which is why he doesn't like anthropomorphism.

He's basically bug peta.

But he's annoyingly reactionary enough and an admitted weirdo that I don't think bringing him up here will lead to anything good. (I take the social justice side of things, but he's a little much even for me and does not pick battles)

I only brought him up in the first place because the whole "promotes bullfighting" thing sounded familiar. I don't agree with a chunk of his opinions (though Awful Hospital is great) and I agree that we probably shouldn't be dwelling on him.

To change topic: What's your guy's opinions of the old 80's-early 00's trend of giving every remotely popular movie a cartoon, regardless of the film's original target audience?

Bubbles and Blossom sound the same, and Buttercup sounds like a surfers. The aesthetic that they're going for also seems to be in conflict with the girls' character designs. The side characters aren't too good either, despite having their old voice actors. They didn't bother introducing Princess in the episode centered around her scheme, I guess just assuming that everybody knew her from the old series, and the mayor, instead of being a bumbling politician who relies on his secretary, he just has a pickle obsession. The original series had a bit of a retro feel to it, and it's really jarring that the new show is trying painfully hard to be current and modern. The new show also seems to have a bit of a lack of focus on the whole superhero aspect. That's not to say that it's wrong to make changes, just that after a certain point, they'd really be better off if they just went and made something new instead of digging up an old IP. Also there's no Talking Dog. 0/10

At least it's made me appreciate the original more. Not feeling to optimistic about the new Samurai Jack though.

Yeah I agree, the animation is pretty generic post-2010s flash stuff, it doesn't really fit the original at all

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes was arguably a Good Fun Series. And you have to love the RoboCop cartoon because it completely loving missed the point of the original (Just pretend it's based on the Robo2.0 version that gets pussified-by-committee in R2).

The 90s sequel trend (Let's give cartoons to Comic Series!) was also fun. Nothing like WildCATS and UltraForce receiving super toned down X-Men ripoff treatments!

Wasn't allowed to watch it as a kid because of the crude humor, though I do remember enjoying the times I secretly watched it. I find it interesting that it (and it's spin off I Am Weasel) were the only ones of the in-house (as in, made by Hannah Barbera/CN Studios) Cartoon Cartoons to have a radically distinct artstyle until Robot Jones. (Ed, Edd n Eddy, Mike, Lu & Og, Courage, and Sheep in the Big City were made by other production companies)

Robot Jones looked like it had a lot of potential and it was a shame it was cancelled so early. At least, that's the sentiment I had back then. It's been a while since I've seen it so I dunno how it's aged, but I feel like Regular Show hits a lot of the same retro humor jokes.

There were like six early episodes of Ren and Stimpy that were really good and everyone remembers the show for them. Then John K got booted off the show for being impossible to work with, resulting in a drop in quality. And then they thought putting John K back on the show and giving him everything he wanted would fix things, only to realize too late that the first season was good in spite of John K and not because of him.

Ren and Stimpy was super influential and groundbreaking at the time but it's not a particularly great show
