Welcome to NYC `77 MAFIA.

A C9++ game of Mafia.

In early `75, Blondie was auditioning drummers at Tommy Ramone's studio on Twenty-third Street. A twenty-one-year-old from New Jersey named Clem Burke was on the stool, and Patti Smith drifted into the room. This wasn't unusual; though [Debbie] Harry and Smith weren't exactly friends, they knew each other.

When Burke stopped playing, Smith, in her nasal come-hither sneer, said, "Heeeeey, you're pretty good. What's your name?"

Harry stared daggers at her. Ivan Kral had defected to her band only a few weeks earlier.

"Patti," she said. "I'm working with this guy."

"Oh," responded Patti casually.

Smith soon left. Not long afterward, Burke auditioned for her, but didn't get the job. He played his first gig with Blondie---who were still being billed in CBGB ads as the Stilettos---in March. That night, Fred Smith told his bandmates he was leaving to join Television. He would be replacing Richard Hell, who was tired of deferring to Tom Verlaine. Verlaine was in CBGB that night, Patti Smith beside him. But they didn't linger.

While there was plenty of style-mixing, aesthetic lines were being drawn. There were the pop-rockers in one clique: the Ramones, the Dictators, the Miamis, and Blondie (and later the Heartbreakers). And there was the art-rock clique centered around Patti Smith and Television, now fronted solely by her now close friend Tom Verlaine.

The divide grew. "I may be paranoid," Harry reflected in the wake of all the musical chairs, "but I think that whole clique wanted to destroy us."

Welcome to New York City, 1977, where death hangs out on every corner. It could be cold steel in the hand of a maniac. It could be one push behind a needle. It could be a cab trying to make that last fare that doesn't see the crosswalk. It could be a member of your own band who robs you to cop a fix.

No one gets out alive.

RULES (Rules section mostly stolen from other goons. Hello!)
Days will be 48 hours long (except when hammered) and nights not more than 24 hours.
Majority vote, no-votes can occur.
Flavor is not indicative of alignment---go nuts, claim away. Have fun with it.
No editing your posts.
No talking OOT unless you are able to do so.
If there are doctors, they cannot follow.
If an individual scum has night actions, they may not use a night action and kill on the same night.
Don't post your role PM, but go ahead and talk up your flavor.
Don't post after hammers.
Don't post after dying ( :ghost:

posts acceptable if not game-related or for scum to gloat. villainous gloating would be rad.)
