The furniture is a symptom of them not being a well run company. Well run companies use the profits from their successful products to deck out their offices with fancy poo poo to show how successful they are. CIG are not a successful company and have released no products and are entirely funded by the goodwill of their fans. Spending that money on fancy poo poo to make them look successful is pure management incompetence.

Chris knows he failed to make what he wanted with the money they pulled in, but he's convinced that SQ42 will save the day. I'd love to say that it will be a heavy blow to him when SQ42 fails, and fails hard, but Chris is too monumentally stupid for the failure to drill through his thick drooling skull. Most everyone else knows it's a scam now, though, and that includes Sandi, who has one hand on the divorce papers at all times. History repeats itself, after all.

So they literally have the attitude of 'go in front of the camera and make poo poo up'. They care more about what's happening in this thread than delivering anything to their backers.

When you get down to the fact that they probably know they will never deliver the product they have promised, continue to sell ships based on a product they will never deliver, and funnel all of the money into Chris Roberts personal autistic dream movie then yes it's a scam.

I think at this point it's only a question of how many people are complicit in the scam itself. At least Chris and Sandi. Chris knows he has no plans to do anything but Squadron 42, that all the work is going to Squadron 42 and that they are specifically trying to pretend that the persistent universe is still a priority and has any plans of being finished in the next two years.

Lower level workers are probably just doing what they are told, so it's really down to how many out of 300 are Chris' accomplices.

The defense will be that the PU was released and that Squadron 42 was always a promised product. Nobody would expect the final result to be 90% of the time and funding spent on a terrible quality Squadron 42 and 10% of the time on a horrendously incomplete, barely working, "Technically as advertised" Star Citizen. So they will try and weasel out of any repercussions at the end by saying they released both games with the features they promised.

I'm pretty sure even if zero people other than Chris are happy with this clusterfuck when the lights come back on they will still try to make a legal case for why everyone but Chris is wrong.

Stimpire is some stupid rear end fanfic post on the official forums about a stupid space empire where everyone is always in constant pain or agony or whatever, and then they kill you for something. Paaarp comes from the sound of an airhorn, which was liberally used during one of the Star Citizen conventions?

Stimpire is from an terrible fan fiction posted on the official SC boards by a disturbed fan.

Paarp is the sound of an airhorn. It originated at $42,000,000 when Chris went to publicly display all of the work on Star Citizen and had a buggy, non working tech demo that he couldn't get running and was frustrated and trying to apologize to the audience about why the game was constantly crashing or wouldn't start. After years and $42,000,000. People in the audience were heckling him about cryengine, so a goon made a video with airhorns about how much of a disaster the project was at the time.

Stimpire is from the official CIG forums. Some weirdo typed up a huge and long post about some kind of weird fetish fanfic where there was this body horror empire with pain that "Tripled every second" and dumb things. This was on the forums and approved of by CIG for a really long time so it kind of took off as a point to mock them about.

Also I would love if Derek could just post the CIG employee claiming that the doors were a garage opener and some free employee work in an image.

With the proof of how much the doors are/cost.

Then maybe a minor suggestion that CIG is doing ongoing damage control to try and control the narrative on their expenditures (because they are running out of money)

Except that would translate to like 34,000 words somehow.
