Tried my first tin of KOs. Best dines. Ate a couple out of the tin then mixed the rest up with avocado and used that as Trisket dip.

Looks like hot dog vomit.

Which is to say it looks very dadly.

Tried the Riga smoked sprat pate yesterday. It was a homogenous, gray, firm, very light mousse that smelled like oily fish.

Have you ever imagined what canned cat food tastes like? This stuff is like your most optimistic estimate. Smoke and sardine heads. It was too firm and light to spread into a presentable form.

I tried it on vegetable Ritz crackers. My dog got most of it. I did not care for it. Will not buy again.

You started out very well. Bela's are the best I've found in local stores.

Just tried KO Med's for the first time, in a variety of ways. Straight, on crackers, on toast, and with a wide variety of the usual condiments like mustards and hot sauces (tzatziki shouldn't have come as a surprise hit, but goddamn)

My review? :perfect:

Belas are my favorite. Too tasty on their own to use as a recipe ingredient.

A friend just got back from Italy and brought me this:

Tried some random tin of sardines in my cupboard awhile ago and wasn't impressed at all. Just bought a 12pk of Riga Gold sprats though. What's the tastiest yet laziest thing to pair them with (if anything)?

Wasa is a popular brand with a selection of flavors. They are cheap, bland, durable, and seemingly never go stale. They're also big, so sardines fit easily.

Tbh black bread is my go to over crackers most of the time. A primo compromise between flavor, form factor, and delicious dine oil absorption.

(And filling enough I don't eat a whole pack like I do with bagel chips or triscuits :shobon:)

Yo what the gently caress is up with different flavors of KO having different amounts of omegas? Is Oscar trying to scam me out of my omegas?

Also I have a bag of masa harina flour, I'm going to make some tortillas and try dines with them.

My guess would be the type and quantity of oil they're packed in.

Make a dine tamale just for science :fsn:
