http://m.mlb.com/news/article/176830856/bartolo-colon-hits-first-home-run-of-career

Bartolo Colon continued his career of being a 900-pound octogenerian who does incredible baseball poo poo all of the time by smacking his first goddamn dinger at the age of 42. He hit it against "Big Game" James Shields, whose most recent Big Game was the one when he served up a loving meatball to Bartolo Colon and then watched him gradually circle the bases while the population of the Earth celebrated.
https://twitter.com/InMetsWeTrust/status/729139293696954371

Colon went 6 2/3 innings, gave up three runs, picked up the win, and caused a minor earthquake.

Please post about Colon hitting a dinger in this thread, for talking about Colon's ding dong johnson and other Feats of Colon.

Despite his power at plate, Colon has never gotten to first on a base on balls. This remains the only accomplishment left for Bartolo to achieve. Considering his approach at the plate, however, we may have to wait a long time to see him finally take a walk to first.

Yeah, Gary Cohen's usually really good with calls anyway, but this time he's literally screaming by the time the ball lands.

e: Plawecki talking to reporters after the game: "I was so excited I nearly missed third base."

As the last living argument against the DH (on purely entertainment grounds), I look forward to Bartolo "Gordie Howe" Colon serving as a DH well into his 50s.

* please do not take this ridiculous post add an opportunity to discuss the DH. This is Bartolo's thread.

It worked because he's an old fat man. Guy on the basepath was so loving stunned Batolo charged him with the tag he froze like a deer in the headlights.

There are times in your life when you're reminded about the beauty in the world. Seeing a cherry blossom tree bloom. A beautiful sunset to cap off a perfect day. And of course, there's Bartolo Colon with the most majestic home run you'll ever see a man hit.

I can't find anywhere a Statcast version of the double he hit against the Marlins, which is a shame because I want to know how much longer it took him to reach second than it would have taken Harper to reach home.
