I really like "Modern Soul" and "Timeless" but set it aside for Radiohead for the time being.

Old Town Road to EGOT

I legitimately enjoy the new James Blake album like 95% more than the new Radiohead album and I Need A Forest Fire is one of my favorite songs of this year, as is Radio Silence.

If the new Radiohead album sounded like a Radiohead album, I'd be more inclined to like it.

Gotta agree with this one. I also think James Blake really nailed that melancholy late-night sound that Drake was trying to pull off on Views.

"Meet You in the Maze" might be one of my favorite songs of the year. Completely devastating.

Seems like news about these guys falls on deaf ears nowadays, but this is great news:

quote:

Super Furry Animals are to release their first recorded work together for seven years – a Euro 2016 single entitled BING BONG.

After reuniting last year, the band's first new music since 2009’s Dark Days/Light Years album, was recorded in Cardiff late last year and will be released on Friday, May 13 - a month before Wales kick off their Euro 2016 campaign in France.

Described as 'a reinvention of the totemic, communal anthem', further information on the single is to be announced in the coming weeks, with music, live performance and video remaining under wraps until the band conclude a series of imminent festival dates in the United States.

I think it's pretty good for their first time making music together in a while. The LP will probably be good, whenever they do one.

But, as has been the case for the last decade, Dan Boeckner and Spencer Krug are still doing their best music separately. The new Operators album was great, and Moonface is still consistently amazing.

I saw. The part of the article where she's talking about sticking to where you grew up and making it better really struck a chord with me. I high-tailed it out of my hillbilly town as soon as I was old enough, and recently I've started coming back with a lot of emotional baggage about the whole thing. It was really inspirational hearing her talk about her determination to not let her hometown be void of all the people who didn't fit in.

Also the music's loving incredible. The ending of Rejoice absolutely kicks my feet out from under me, every time.

I'm pretty sure I won't have another Spotify Discover Playlist song this good for the rest of the year. I have a good feeling this will end up making my top 10 list for this year. Melancholy singer/songwriter, but just enough momentum to stop you from slitting your wrists. It's like Elliott Smith good...

I saw Diiv tonight and they were great. Kind of wish people were a little less moody and more dancey, but everything about the set was fine. Definitely go see them if you're on the fence about it.

Their opener, Parnoyds were also pretty rad and played a pretty fast/intricate set compared to the studio songs. Kind of like a more stoned out Dum Dum Girls or Bikini Kill. Worth checking out for sure.
