Also, red has always been the colour of socialism/the left, and in graphs in Europe, rightist parties are often shown as blue (because it's a clear 'opposite' to red).

However, we enjoy calling everything left of GWB "socialism", as the poster above me explained.

Given his voting history, hard line conservatives would view him far to the left of most republican candidates in recent years.

There is some very sensual touching going on in the cutscene there. i don't actually think it means anything sexual but it's cool how it contrasts with modern ideas of what bad ass stuff should be like. It even seems authentic to some kind of chivalric masculine touching from a tyme longe gone

I'm a strong believer in this. If you'd like to know more i'll be sitting outside the coffee shop until it closes talking loudly to no one in particular

Would a Nazi dogcatcher's politics affect his performance? Would he give German Shepherds more Lebensraum? Would he have a gas chamber in the back of his truck or something?

Take a look at the Front National's policies and see how they differ from Trump's platform. He's going to get a lot more votes in November than any of the parties on that map got.

Those are literally the kind of parties Trump would run if he lived in a many-party democracy. Trump actually reminds me of the PVV leader:

- Shouts utter nonsense about immigrants/muslims
- wants to build a wall around the continent/country
- gets a lot of votes but because they never have any clear and feasible solutions, nobody in government (except for their own goons) can cooperate with them, and those who try tend to get burned
- Awful fake hair

Most commonly it's something like "you are in favor of a tax rate greater than 0%? loving socialist, :frogout:." Plus literally anything that will help the working class, up to and including jobs programs, is considered socialism and must be destroyed.

It's skewed a little bit though, because most people ignore the EU voting stuff. So you get a higher proportion of people voting for anti EU parties - leading to us paying for UKIP MEP'S to not turn up. It's great. (It's not )

edited to be less obnoxious:

The US electoral system is set up in such a way that third party candidates barely get a look in, let alone fourth and fifth. The European Parliament is set up in such a way that everyone gets a look in - the governing coalition contains one hundred and fifty three parties with four hundred and seventy five MEPs between them.

The comparisons between the US and European systems are in this case irrelevant.

Ironically pretty much the only people who vote in these sort of EU elections are fascists who hate the EU.

25% of votes for EU council is like ten and a half voters.

That being said the Far-Right has been getting a bit bigger in recent years and it's sort of worrying that they're actually getting some votes in real election and not just in lovely failed states like Greece, Hungary, and Finland.
