i don't read d&d, but it seems to me that it is hard to beat this guy in debate because when you point out how he has been unreasonably wrong and stupid about everything you're likely to break some incestuous high-school debate team competition rules.

when people are serious about debating, they basically agree that it is too overpowered to say that fascism bad by using a illegal moves like "slippery slope" arguments. it's like the sport of fencing where you can't just do big cool overhand swings and cleave your opponent in two, you have to pose in extremely gay stances and move in an extremely gay way in order to score points with your dinky floppy sort-of-sword, and, well, nobody's got the moves like this guy

It was a workout log in a thread about a back alley "abortion clinic". I don't have the link on hand but Inco is the relevant poster.

I think you may be confusing things with a post about either abortion or miscarriages where some guy posted his fitness log multiple times and wondering why it wasn't showing up in the right place.

That thread is one of the funniest things I have ever read. If I am ever in a bad mood it never fails to make me laugh. Something about everyone being super serious and sad about the topic and then this guy just barrels in busting down the door and starts shouting about his workout log, totally oblivious that he's in the wrong place.

Debate about colonialism in the board games thread

Comrade Gorbash posted:

Take up the White Meeple's burden, Send forth the best ye breed
Go place markers on cities, to serve your captives' need;
To wait in heavy harness, On fluttered folk and wild—
Your new-caught, sullen players, Half-devil and half-child.

Take up the White Meeple's burden, In patience to abide,
To veil the threat of boredom And check the show of pride;
By open speech and simple, An hundred times made plain
To seek another's profit, And work another's gain.

Take up the White Meeples burden, the Spiel des Jahres winner—
Fill their hands with Cards And give dice to the beginner;
And when your goal is nearest The end for others sought,
Watch sloth and randomized Mechanics Bring all your hopes to nought.

Take up the White Meeple's burden, No tawdry rule of lames,
But toil of Brass and Agricola, The tale of Catan games.
The stores ye shall not enter, The games they call to hard,
Go mark them with your tokens, And mark them with your card.

Take up the White Meeple's burden And his old reward reap:
The blame of those ye better, The hate of those ye teach—
The cry of hosts ye humour (Ah, slowly!) toward the light:—
"Why brought he us from bondage, Our loved Monopoly night?"

Take up the White Meeple's burden, Ye dare not stoop to less—
Nor call too loud on To cloak your weariness;
By all ye cry or whisper, By all ye leave or do,
The silent, sullen peoples Shall weigh your games and you.

Take up the White Meeple's burden, Have done with childish days—
The lightly profferred laurel, The easy, ungrudged praise.
Comes now, to search your manhood, through all the thankless years
Cold, edged with dear-bought wisdom, The judgment of your peers!
