If I'm looking for bluesier sounding, moody metal like what Metallica did in Load with songs like Bleeding Me, what else is out there? I don't think doom metal really fits the bill here.

At one point I felt like that was a sharp US vs Euro band merch thing but I think more bands in general are moving to a less canvas tent like fit and feel.

Corrosion of Conformity and Kyuss come to mind. They're kind of Stoner Rock-ish, but there's a bluesy influence in both. Also, Clutch, particularly the album From Beale Street to Oblivion.

You'll laugh and probably shout me out of the thread, but check out 1987 by Whitesnake. gently caress the haters, I know it's glam metal, but there are some legit good songs that are blues based on there.

Check who makes the shirt. Some of the activewear brands like Gildan or Anvil will fit like gym shorts, but I've had really nice fits from Bay Island, Tultex, American Apparel and Fruit of the Loom in order from best to worst.

You guys ready to hear a satanic song?
I actually like some of the Doom soundtrack. It's djent stuff(I think?) but it totally fits the whole run and shoot everything vibe the franchise has.

If anyone has music that sounds similar, please feel free to share. The riff at 1:31 is totally my poo poo.

The new Katatonia is "out". Only listened to a little of it but right away I'm disappointed with the production. It sounds thin and cheap, like they were working on a really limited budget.

This isn't very good nor bluesy at all though. :v:

If you're gonna go with old glam bands, at least pick the ones who actually do some bluesy stuff nowadays.

Initially I thought this post was about the original doom games where they put bits of slayer and metallica into midi and called it a day, and after listening to that track I think that produced better results.

This is much more "classic" Gojira, but still a little bit more proggy than their other efforts. I dig it a lot.

New Gojira is very cool. Speaking of proggy stuff Josh Middleton of Sylosis put out his solo album yesterday, and it's cool and good: http://joshmiddleton.com/product/hollowed-out-planetoid-album-digital-download-wav/

Amazing album, but BTBAM were never really deathcore. Dustie and Blake's previous band Glass Casket were though, and incidentally are a goon band (is it COOL CORN that was the other guitar player?). Their two albums are the only thing in that genre that I've ever enjoyed, and even they sometimes got a bit too breakdowny for my tastes.

On an unrelated note I listened to Blind Illusion's The Sane Asylum after years of saying I'd get around to it and drat, what an underrated album. It should be mentioned in the same breath as other classic tech-thrash records, but instead Blind Illusion are more of a trivia question because they had the guys from Primus (who are my favorite band).
