I love the rapport he has with this cat. He's so thrilled to be there. It's not every man that would let a large aggressive wild cat play-bite his loving throat.

Ocelots and Margays are pretty awesome. I was on patrol in Honduras and had a Margay fall on my head back in 1988. I think it missed a jump and just kind of plummeted and knocked itself silly when it hit my skull. Our medic checked it to see that it hadn't broken anything and my squad just chilled until it could move under its own power. It took off and disappeared into the brush after about twenty minutes.

I had stairs in my house growing up and I would slide down like a goof all the time.

Lawdamercy, my cousins and I are lucky to be alive after all the shenanigans we pulled on the stairs in my Gran's house.

The best thing to use were the kindermats. Old wheelchairs, though, the worst.

I went down the stairs a few times in a laundry basket. It's amazing that I'm still alive today lol.

We slid down the stairs on slips of cardboard. The "landing zone" was maybe 5 ft long ending in a large upright piano, thirsty for the skull blood of children.

I still remember the time my mom walked in the door at the perfect time to see my older brother at the top of our basement stairs on a sled in full skateboard protective gear, and me at the bottom holding a literal barrel for him to land in, stuffed with pillows. We completely did not take into effect that he was in fact, taller even sitting up, than the width of the barrel, and would probably take his head off in the landing. We were far too old at the time to have not thought this through.

Decided to drop by the cat shelter on my day off, and got to meet a few of the newcomers!

Joseph took some time off his busy schedule of sleeping in his hidey hole to completely ignore me

Here's Levon, being handsome/puzzled

This is Magellan, in mid "I just woke up, damnit" stretch

This is either Lolly, or a big pile of dryer lint. Still not sure

Here's Tails. She's tiny, and has no tail

Mousie appears to have melted, slightly

Candy found me to be fascinating

This handsome fellow is Smoky Joe. He's one of the softest cats I've ever pet

:hfive: me and my siblings did this too, usually had a bunch of pillows at the bottom. Being the youngest of four, of course I was the guinea pig...now all my older brothers and sister regret it because I outgrew them and I just laugh when they try to inflict pain :black101:

I've always said he has permanent bed head, his fur never really lays smooth. I bet it would hold a handprint. I'm disappointed in myself for not having tried yet.

^ That's my view every morning. He sits on the headboard and waits for me to wake up and feed him, looming like a hungry gargoyle.

My grandparents' house (and later mine, when my family moved in to the apartment upstairs when I was about 5) had these massive railings alongside the stairs that were perfect for sliding down when you were a kid.

(By 'perfect' I mean 'I can't believe no one died').

I was driving into work today in a rare rear end-kicking mode, just totally ready to get things done. I get to the building and as I'm driving up to the parking lot I see a little buddy in the road!

Naturally, I helped him cross the road. And then, because this is the upliftingthread, my boss happened to drive past and catch me being a friend of turtles. Got a big smile and a thumbs up.

What a good day. :neckbeard:

Crossposting from cute thread. My sweet little dog had an anal gland rupture late last week and just saw the vet today. They sedated her to clean things up, and this is her after she came home:

The treat on the bed next to her is her favorite kind. No, she isn't asleep. She opened her eyes and sniffed it, then zoned out again.
