I have two questions about the lyrics to "rear end Man", the entrance music for Billy Gunn when he was performing as his "Mr. rear end" character. The song was both written and performed by Jim Johnston.

For reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFZj6Fnq4G4

1. Is Johnston singing "A little tight one, can stop me from behind" or "Only a tight one, can stop me from behind".

2. One of the lyrics is "Your lies won't give away the truth of how I feel". What exactly do you think Jim Johnston meant by this? It's the only line in the song that isn't a direct reference to asses. For context here is the entire verse containing it:

code:
Buns of glory
Buns of steel
Your lies won't give away the truth of how I feel

You walk behind me
I feel the heat
That's why the girls don't walk behind me down the street
I really can't make sense of that line.

An acceptable second. The only issue is how badly the censorship ruins all of New Jack's stuff on the network, and if the song looped you knew New Jack had been out there too long.

Right now my interpretation is that women actually don't like to stand behind Mr. rear end because his farts smell bad, but Mr. rear end is is denial and thinks they are just scared of seeing his rear end and getting too turned on. People try to tell him that and he's accusing them of lying.

His rear end is very good, quite possibly the best ever, but he can't accept that even the best rear end has flaws. Some pretty deep character work, imo.

I'm of the opinion that at least a quarter of the fun of pro wrestling is the entrances. Great ones can instantly change the mood of an entire crowd. Bad ones can kill off the excitement even for a great wrestler.

What do folks consider the best, most iconic, or catchiest themes?

I think Stone Cold's glass shatter theme is the most iconic, closely followed by The Undertaker's music.

Other favorites include Shane McMahon, Vince McMahon, Kurt Angle, CM Punk, AJ Lee, Kane, Daniel Bryan, the Wyatts, Dolph Ziggler, and Shinsuke Nakamura. I'll also give kudos to the Hulk Hogan theme. It's sort of ridiculous, but it was a perfect fit for his character and the '80s.

Also, flip side: worst themes ever? I think Brie Bella's gotta be in contention, as does Cesaro. Stephanie McMahon got the short end of the stick with her theme. There are so many bad, generic entrances that are basically remixes of Austin's theme without the glass shatter. Roman Reigns' theme is an obvious case, but there are dozens if not hundreds of them.

X-Pac showed he can still go if he's motivated, he put on a great match with El Generico a couple years back that almost turned his life completely around (He was so humbled by the fans support, floored at how good of a worker Generico was, and ended up going clean for quite a while afterwards)

Weren't all of his other Chikara matches after that pretty lovely though? That match was pretty impressive but knowing what I do now about how Generico likes to lead people (including veterans) move by move through what he wants to do in the ring I'm thinking that probably had a lot to do with it

Nice catch. "Your eyes will give away the truth of how I feel" sounds right even though the lyric still doesn't make any sense.

I think it's pretty obvious that in a song where every line is about asses, he says rear end instead of eyes.

Also the other line is "That's why the girls all walk behind me" not "don't walk behind me". Because you see, he loves asses, but he also has an rear end.

Those matches were all a significant amount of time after the Generico match, after the high of feeling wanted again wore off.

Humans disgust me. Vile creatures.
Were some of those lovely Chikara matches after he broke his rear end, too? If so that's a pretty good excuse. 123 Kid vs El Generico stands as the best match I've ever seen in person, that was fantastic.

Re: entrance music, I'm big on chunky or fuzzy guitar riffs and stuff like that, so a lot of just generic rock ones really speak to me and make me want to drive my car or exercise to them though I know they're objectively not great entrance music necessarily in terms of popping a crowd or being recognizable or emblematic of a wrestler.

Don't remember another monitor to the back, but he got his foot stuck in a monitor hole once:

And then there's of course about a dozen RKOs at least where the table didn't break.

He says as much in Undisputed, that between the differences in the ropes and the ring, and having to wear lifts because he was suddenly wrestling guys who were so much bigger than him (which is why the Liontamer became a Boston Crab like three weeks after he debuted, because otherwise he'd basically have to break a guy's neck in order to pull it off), he had a really difficult adjustment period.
