Even if no space games at all had been shown at E3, Star Citizen is still poo poo. Attacking other games is irrelevant - Star Citizen is complete poo poo that is not coming out - that is true even in a gaming vacuum. What you see on the PTU is what Chris and his team are capable of. If Chris was less poo poo, he might have made something great. If his "wife" was less poo poo, the social media shitstorm we're experiencing would have been replaced with something respectable. If Ben was less poo poo, the backers would not be a cultist-infused nightmare of the worst people in the world.

Star Citizen is a farce. E.T. for the 2600 transcended it in every way possible in 1982. In 2016, a child making GBS threads on a piece of cardboard and leaving fecal nuggets at random has just made a better game than Chris Roberts is capable of creating.

It's a sickening and heartbreaking truth.

Why did they need to show more? SC is floundering, with not even a minimal presence at E3 they weren't exactly the game to beat. Difference is that while CIG has been clamming up more and more and resorting to "tell" over "show", this is only the start of the marketing ramp up for Andromeda. They only had to whet our appetites and EA knows full well the price of over-filling the hype machine early.

The game isn't releasing until next year, and we'll get more and more in the lead up to that. Wait until the frame-by-frame analysis of the trailer is released, I'd put money on finding a hell of a lot compressed into that short segment than is immediately obvious.

I know - it's exactly the same thing! For all we know it's the same guy. I especially savored the use of the word "poser" - a "kid word" I haven't heard used in over 10 years. (I guess I aged out of that demographic.)

Apparently Star Citizen is an example of "faith-based gaming development." It's likelihood of release is not connected to the work CIG is doing, but rather due to whether or not internet arguments tangentially related to it can be won with enough regularity. If you post on enough forums, and attack enough competing games, and say "Derek Smart sucks" enough, the game codes itself and releases.
