I mean, I run around 25 and most of them are tiny changes like allowing Dogmeat as a constant companion or changing how much scrap a junk item makes. There isn't a single one that adds new weapons or armor u less you count Unique Unique. Once you play the game enough, it's easy to spot QoL issues and slap on a small mod to address it.

Yeah, I'm about 160~ installed files, 155 plug-ins/ep's, and 15gig virtual folder. Though I'm pretty sure 80% or more in file size is textures.

Has anyone found a mod that adds some sort of recycler with the Contraptions DLC? I'd like to be able to just dump whatever the gently caress I want into a machine and have it scrap it - not just junk.

Yeah honestly i was running 220 or so plugins, but if you're comfortable enough in FO4edit it's really easy to write a merged patch to address all incompatibilities. like I literally had no incompatibilities beyond things overwriting the unofficial patch and the item sorting mod, and those I could manage myself. The other thing is that unlike Skyrim, Fallout 4 is more stable generally and there are very few scripted mods out yet.

Yes, I attribute this to 64 bit functionally in FO4 over almost anything else though. Skyrim lacked that so hitting a memory wall with lots of mods running was pretty common. I expect when more mods with greater complexity and depth reveal themselves, it will get tougher to write patches -- but if needed, I'll write a handy guide for goons that wish to dive into it. FO4Edit looks intimidating, but it's quite easy once you understand the "rules," and I hope they have something like BOSS support soon.

If you're on Steam, there's a new Beta for Fallout4 released just a few minutes ago. New Features: ExitSave - creates a save file when you return to the main menu - PERFECT for survival mode when you NEED to get some sleep IRL and can't be assed to find a bed in game. Addon Icons - In settlement build menu, there's now tiny icons in the corner of categories to let you know which DLC they're from - a tiny Mechanist, a deathclaw for Wasteland Workshop, a boat for Far Harbor, and a wrench for Contraptions - these are on categories such as the cages, conveyor belts, barns, concrete stuff, etc. New Keyword Menu for Raider stuff - contains the spike poles, cages, and tiny tent structures. On top of this, general bug fixes, quest fixes, and optimizations. How to access the Steam Beta: Log into Steam. Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library. Select Settings. Select Betas. A drop down menu will appear. Select Beta. Select OK. Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update. When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [Beta] in your Library. The update is 732.0 MB Please leave feedback on the update at the official Bethesda.net forums. Link: https://community.bethesda.net/thread/44996

I'm having a pretty aggravating issue with the game. No matter what, if I load the game up mods (even if it's one single mod active) it CTD's while loading. I've tried everything I can think of outside of manually deleting every mod and reinstalling them. Any advise?

So I downloaded and installed Raider overhaul and Mutant redux, and installed them like normal mods through NMM. I also got the mod that is a dependency, as per the instructions on the mod page. Anyway, I killed some raiders, and they have some apparel items that either don't show up in game(It is just completely blank, like the kabuki mask which is invisible) or they just look like normal items. (Got a skeleton outfit, but it just looks like long johns) did I do something wrong?

Sounds like it. The Raider overhauls adds a ton of new items like the ones you mention but they all have a unique skin/mesh.

Hmm, maybe it has to do with me installing the mod by throwing it into the data folder and then also downloading it via NMM. Gonna fully uninstall the mod and try again. Edit: poo poo. No luck. I have items showing up on raiders, but they have no mesh. Time to just say gently caress it and delete my data folder and try again fresh. jadebullet fucked around with this message at 03:23 on Jul 1, 2016 |
