So, quick question about Cyclops blueprints.

I finally went to the grand reef and sparse reef area to collect those blueprints I still needed. And I already had two cyclops upgrades on my blueprint list. (Regular for Plasteel + Aluminum oxide. Ultra for x10 Plasteel, oxide, and the first upgrade)

Now, I'm seemingly stuck at 2/3 of "Cyclops" scanning. I have a "Cyclops pressure compensator" that only needs 1 plasteel ingot between my recently unlocked Water Filter, and Nuclear reactor/Rods/Thermal reactor.

But scanning more Cyclops pressure compensator fragments (looking like those safes) now just give me titanium.

Safe to assume this third one I have (which in just now hindsight I can't even build), and this partical scan progress, is just an EA gently caress up?

I admit after I get around to making a secondary base in the reefs near floater island area, I'll probably be shelving it until it gets more optimized. For some reason while things run pretty good generally, physically turning my Cyclops turns things into a real shitshow, no matter what settings (I'm above all the recommended stuff, with 16 Gigs of Ram not being enough to have kept me from getting a memory error steering it through a kelp forest one time).

1,500 depth max (900, if I don't want to pop my seamoth) is of small comfort, when it's such a ballbuster doing anything but drive it forward and backward.

Did you console-spawn a Cyclops or something?

The Cyclops has three components that each have their own scanning requirements: hull, engine, and bridge. The pressure compensator is its own, separate thing.

Maybe they changed it since I last checked but it's 10 days in the wild and 3 days in the tank. You have to be near the egg during this time.

Nope. Scanned all the assorted cyclops part legit, have not tried consoling in blueprints yet. I got and built my Cyclops legit from the hull/bridge/engine bits, and while I can't exactly go back and check, this bar thing is more recent.

I DID notice I seemed to have Cyclops upgrades unlocked already in the crafting/mod station as soon as I crafted they Cyclops, though didn't get around to making them at the time.

Then when I went to the sparse/grand reef, while I was scanning up Water filters/Nuke/thermals, some of the fragments were for Cyclops compensation or whatever (shaped like safes as usual, rather than ship chunks). But after scanning two of them, the 3rd and 4th gave me titanium instead (and that's when I checked my PDA, saw the 2/3 progress, and that seemingly out of place "Only needs ONE plasteel ingot, nothing else!" duplicate named upgrade on my blueprints list between my recent water and power finds).

Then the next 45 minutes of scooting around the grand reef with my seaglide turned up zero fragments of any kind to confirm further. So I finally built those Cyclops upgrades I could apparently have made the whole time, and called it a night with 1,500 depth unlocked.

I've done some misc materials and item spawns the later in I get, but I've made sure not to mess with ship parts or upgrade parts just in case of shenanigans.

So... EA game having thrown lots of wacky bugs at me already... Maybe it got confused and unlocked my Cyclops mods early?

Then again, my extra listed blueprint going "It's got the same name as the upgrade you built already, but only needs one plastel, nothing else" seems pretty out of place, when the other (shown earlier in the pile) blueprint wanted aluminum oxide, and that's what my Fabricator could make.

Where can you find 1500m depth dives or is that just in the off the map abyss?

I've maxed out my seamoth's 900m doing that but not much of interest there.

The cyclops really needs some better sensors or something because it's lik piloting a building around right now.

Had an idea to build a giant cage structure using tube connectors and console spawn a couple leviathans in there and watch em fight.

No, you probably have Cyclops unlocked. The blueprints screen gets broken often, I scanned all 9 parts required, my cyclops is still shown as 2/3, but it's also an unlocked blueprint I can make.

There are several cavern biomes that start at like 1km depth. I'm not entirely sure where the connection points are. Just look for cave openings in the deeper biomes.

I find that using the external cameras to pilot is much better than trying to guess whether or not your tail rotor is about to smash into a cliff face. I usually stick with the bottom one.

The in the works story content is likely going to involve a lot of deep depths and Exosuit requirements, as well.

I hope they'll include some kind of transit gate system when the really deep poo poo gets implemented, like an abandoned teleporter network. The downside of course is that players would only build bases next to the gates so maybe having random exit points or temporary wormholes would be a better option. Or I could just suck it up and spend hours travelling places :(

Just assume it isn't radiation from one concentrated source (i.e. the MacGuffin inside the wreckage), but lots and lots of contaminated particles in the water column/on the sea floor that you're being exposed to as you pass through. The Deepwater Horizon, only with :catdrugs:.

They aren't little safes like the other fragments, they're chunks of the seamoth model, sometimes partly obscured by the red grass.

I have a feeling a reefback egg would probably be the size and texture of one of those boulders the little floaters like to stick to.

I'd like some Base customization options. I wanna stack aquariums on top of a basic room with an aquarium instead of building multiple floors of rooms to put aquariums into. Or at least the option to remove the floor in between room stacks so I can look up.

Yeah more base customization would be awesome. I much prefer that to exploring at this point, mostly because the ordeal of going through scary rear end caves is usually rewarded by a chunk of lithium or whatever and just isn't really worth it.

I put spotlights all over my kick rear end base and now it looks like some vegas nightclub :c00l:

Did you figure out what you can put on the wall shelves? I didn't see a left click option but maybe I missed it.

Also I just found you can fit wall mounted lockers on either side of corridor connectors on the MP, thus keeping the other walls all unobstructed glass!

I really like their base building model, how things snap together cleanly.

Fending off base attacks would be pretty cool. Stop wrecking my poo poo you leviathan dickhead!

Also a docking tube for the cyclops.

Demiurge4

It'd be neat if you had to dedicate a 'wall' in the multipurpose room to a gadget. The assembler on the life pod could be the same but if you build it in a base it's a big jury-rigged mess coming out of the wall, the communicator would be a proper setup with a desk and a scifi ham radio. We already have wall modules like the windows, reinforced bulkhead and living wall. The wall mounted flower pot would be a proper mini greenhouse where you can grow your tomatoes.

Sometimes it works well, and sometimes it just won't let you place things for non-obvious reasons. Trying to place a bed on the Cyclops in the room behind the cockpit is far too complicated because it won't let me rotate the model and it projects longways by default. I had to settle for it projecting into the pathway I walk and not having room for a chair to go with the desk.

So I uh, I tried to dock my seamoth into the moonpool while it was draining and it ejected me and I fell down to the seafloor. It thinks I'm in my base because it's making clanking walking sounds but I'm on the surface. Saving/reloading doesn't fix it. Going to try and walk to find some quartz and make a little habitat that I get in/out in the hopes it'll trigger swimming again

are there any console commands I can use to force swim?
