Wait, does that mean it's the superior version of CvS2?? This is the first I've heard of this. I thought everyone had dismissed the Gamecube port.

Zand posted:aren't there bizarre changes even if you pick ACism? It was the only way I could get my fightstick to work with joy2key assigned to the correct keyboard keys, GC-ism seemed like it was trying to read a gamecube controller specifically but AC-ism made the stick work perfectly. I don't know much more of a difference between the two beyond that. vvv That would explain why certain stick buttons just weren't registering or showing up in control settings. I don't know much more of a difference between the two beyond that. GC/EO ism is pretty much impossible to play properly outside of spamming certain specials due to how your specials/supers are all tied to right analog movements and normals are all tied to how hard you press the triggers. Also you have a really small guard crush meter.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/gamecube/557563-capcom-vs-snk-2-eo/faqs/45388 Thanks to Psychochronic: quote:Differences: That's some of the most blatantly lazy "character rebalancing" in history. A 5% damage buff isn't going to make Kyosuke any less garbage tier and Sagat was the only character who got nerfed in any significant way. Also, A-Bison, Sakura, and Claw ended up being considered better than CBS anyway, and A-Groove was actually BUFFED in the EO version

I think all this proves is that CvS1 is the superior game, what with Bison having that sick looking dash punch and all the stage intros and cooler stages.

Ventana posted:This is more silly bullshit but I still love this moment. One of the only downsides of Combo Breaker was that the commentary mics were being piped to the crowd, which is a huge pet peeve to myself and almost every other commentator I know. It encourages you to try to dumb down what you're saying to hype up the audience and not say anything that could spoil the match or coach the players. Moving forward, I'm just gonna pretend the commentary is stream-exclusive (like I did during set 3 of Saturday Night Salt) because there's no point in trying to cater to the crowd. Commissar Ken posted:I think all this proves is that CvS1 is the superior game, what with Bison having that sick looking dash punch and all the stage intros and cooler stages. CvS1 had awful, almost unplayable balance issues. Set character ratios didn't account for how good the individual characters were, Nakoruru in particular was a loving mess, S-Groove wasn't very good, stages constantly had poo poo in the foreground, and the 4-button setup was a pain in the rear end. CvS2 improved upon CvS1 in almost every conceivable way, with the lone exception of the CvS2 announcer being just as good as the CvS1 announcer instead of better.

Zand posted:a groove buffed? it lost rc though Everyone lost RC though, and Bison and Sakura didn't need RC to do 80% CCs every round (50-60% if you blocked and weren't in a groove with Alpha/Roll counters). Being able to counter anti-air punishes into CCs or get air-to-air juggles in CCs was a hugely unnecessary buff.

So it seems that everyone is finished voting as the vote count hasn't moved in quite some time. As I promised, I took the top five games and made a new poll with them. This poll is just like the previous one as it is multiple choice. The game that receives the most votes will by Monday will win. Here is the new poll with the top five games. I'm still not sure when the tournament will be held. I prefer it to be at the same day and time as the previous one (which would be this Wednesday at 9:00pm central), however I'm not sure what bad metaphors and most goons want.
