Every time I get an email from them, I always check the source code. Old habits.
We are not alone, apparently.

Oh and Mr Robot and Preacher do such drat good titles.

I know everyone loves the attention to detail this show has. I spotted one in this episode.

When Elliot was on his computer in the opening flashback where Darlene came to his apartment on Halloween, you could see Utorrent open on his screen for a brief moment. The version number in the title bar was 3.2.1, which was released in early October 2012. So unless he was still using an older version and ignored updates for a long time, we have a specific date for when Elliot first let Mr. Robot take over: October 31, 2012.

Do we know how long Elliot had been working at Allsafe?

I mean it's a flashback dude

Just saw the latest episode. In the dinner party sequence, I found it odd that the Wellicks were a complete family. I remember he met Mrs. Wellick last season and she asked where her husband was, but did she ever clarify to him that she meant Tyrell? Or am I remembering wrong?

Great episode, as usual.

It seemed clear to me that Eliot figured out who she was early on in their conversation.

Elliot was researching/hacking Tyrell early in the first season after they met at Allsafe, he'd seen photos of the couple together and commented about his life appearing suspiciously normal

I've played chess way less than you and had plenty of stalemates, they're not nearly as rare as you're making them out to be.

Yeah, I remember back in grade school when my friends and I were just starting to learn the game, and we would stalemate all the time. Granted, we only really knew the very basics of the game and had little knowledge of any sort of strategy, but it seemed to happen quite frequently at the time.

Stalemates, or draws? Draws are relatively common, but a stalemate is a special kind of draw in which no legal move can be made and is not a checkmate. They're really rare to encounter in noncontrived situations.

That's extreme specificity that anyone who isn't an actual chess enthusiast would know nothing about. At least in my entire life, when I've hit a draw with someone, we called it a stalemate. But it sure would explain why Elliot thinks it's so rare to get 3 in a row.

SurgicalOntologist
Jun 17, 2004

If you don't know endgame strategy, it can be hard to get a checkmate with just a few pieces left, so stalemate isn't super uncommon. However, the stalemates in the show were early game and contrived so this is all moot.

The fact that they were contrived just reinforces the point of why they happened to begin with. It wasn't coincidental that they had a stalemate every time, because neither side wanted to win or lose the game.

Since the show's already done "online child porn" and Elliott would likely not give a poo poo about drugs, I think Ray's online business will end up being contract killers - and it will turn out his site was used (possibly by Darlene) to hire the guy who killed Gideon.

This is an interesting theory. I don't know if I believe it for the show, but I'd quite like it. That or the human trafficking idea.
