I'm sorry if this is not the right thread, but i wanted to ask if there is a podcast that is specialised on monster movies? Something like "We have such films to show you" , but with monsters.

The descriptions of him having sex are both nauseating and ridiculously funny. Random question, does anyone know which episode features the running joke throughout the episode that the bad guy was running a service selling video tapes, with intern Jeremy? I thought it was 976-Evil, but nope!

That's the best part of the game, but it's also like two levels. The rest is in the future and you spend more time looking for fuse boxes to recharge your gadgets than you do fighting anything. Xenomorphs show up towards the end, tho

These Matthew Broderick impressions are making me wish they'd do one on The Stepford Wives remake because holy poo poo. The wildly inconsistent tone, gay panic jokes, the obvious and hasty rewrites/reshoot of the ending, the entire thing is just one giant shitheap.

Oh man that would be a great call-in for listener request month. I've never seen the movie myself but I remember reading at the time that they completely neutered the satire by having it just be mind control chips in their heads but they also did a bunch of dumb jokes about them being robots, like going to an ATM and having money pour out of their mouths when it malfunctions (???). Frank Oz what happened to you man.

They did indeed gently caress it up pretty bad. I remember when I watched the original Stepford Wives, although I had problems with parts of it, it was unsettling and stuck with me. The new one was entirely bleached puff. I assume the reason they changed it from robots to mind control chips was because they didn't want to deal with the wives being dead and the less than uplifting ending

I just finished binging WHM after starting just under a year ago (September 2015). It was a year ago I sampled the Rocky IV, Three Men and a Baby, and Super Mario Bros episodes and went from Number One With A Bullet. I'm still amazed how easy this podcast goes down. The hosts are extremely likable, but ya'll knew that. My only regret is not jumping on the wagon sooner.

Jupin's Matthew Broderick impression is simultaneously demeaning and wholly accurate, a rare feat. I can't see that guy anymore without thinking of that impression and the How Did This Get Made? story from someone on the set of Deck the Halls about him moping about that movie being the lowest point in his life - AFTER he had KILLED someone in a car crash.

Their Stay Tuned episode shows that they have a lot of contempt for that time period when movies tried to be all holier-than-thou about television, especially when it's a really dumb movie doing it, so I could see them getting a good amount of material out of Cable Guy.

Pops Mgee posted:Cable Guy is super underrated and I don't understand the bad rap it gets. They wanted a wacky friend Jim Carrey movie, instead of a movie about a dangerously mentally ill man who thinks he's in a wacky friend Jim Carrey movie. Seriously Jim Carrey is basically playing the proto-Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler in that movie.

Pops Mgee posted:Cable Guy is super underrated and I don't understand the bad rap it gets. It's a dark comedy that isn't really all that funny and is pretty toothless in an age where television is usually better written than most movies. Also the gimmick of Jim Carrey playing a ~dark and twisted character~ stopped being interesting a decade ago when The Number 23 made it laughable. It's like Mystery Men (which the WHM gang also disliked) in that it's not as bad as people say it is but that doesn't make it actually good.

The current feed has The Pallbearer as the first episode and Addicted to Love shortly after that, since I'm some freak who always listens to shows from the beginning that had a lot to do with why I stuck with the show since on top of being funny as poo poo they also weren't the same lovely horror movies and action movies that every other bad movie podcast does. Not that those episodes of the show aren't also great too.Jose Oquendo posted:I think he was speaking.....asian?! He's speaking WHUT?! Fine. Gohdamoot.
