I just wish (in vain) that all the fuckers that do that stance would take the extra time to figure out how to properly re-aim their headlights.

From the guy who JB welded a cranked FRS crank case. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQNU6spAh2s&t=601s Lotus is dumb, i is smart. he cut the ends of the framerails off because one is damaged and is building a steel box that's going to slide over what's left. He's an absolute hack doing dangerous poo poo, and it's terrifying that he actually got a license plate on one of the salvage cars he bought. You may also recognize him from this. There's doing stuff a roadkill way on a car that's never gonna see real road driving, and then there's patch welding a frame rail with a piece of random poo poo steel you found on a car that is designed to be a street machine. It was also far too much "here watch this time lapse".

Watched a few episodes of B is for Build. The techniques he uses don't bother me so much as long as he's the only one driving the car. If he's doing that to sell on and ruin someone else's day gently caress him.

The original Escalade (and Yukon Denali, which looked nearly identical) front-end were pretty nice (and fairly understated), and quite a lot better than the Tahoe/Yukon of the day. That was the last time "understated" could be used to describe the Escalade though.

My biggest issue is that they're trying to make it like a "how to" with no actual knowledge of how to do half of the poo poo they're doing, and doing some of it flat out wrong. Dangerously wrong. They believe they're doing it right simply because people are watching them do it. They do poo poo wrong because doing it right is hard or expensive. I have no idea how their BRZ passed a salvage inspection with a piece of round stock booger welded in place of a front crash bar, but at some point he's going to want to sell that car with a dangerous crash bar, and rear quarter panels that are probably already full of water and rusted to poo poo hidden under a body kit, and a JB welded crank case. He's the worst case horror scenario when you think of a salvage title car, and he's broadcasting his failures to a crowd of 14 year olds wishing to do the same themselves.

I decided I'd join the biggest facebook automotive buy and sell page for my state the other day instead of just looking at ones for cars I own. I think it was a good decision. At first I thought the number plate was matching the paint job. No, the trick is to not remove or cover up the plates or the wheels, windows, exhaust, badges... Just taking a second look I think they masked up the windows well, the over spray is actually on the side mirror. it has a sunroof though, so it's definitely worth the $1800 they want for it.

Schedules were tight, that time was budgeted to film an episode and they couldn't budge at that point so they had to do something, etc etc.

" Honestly would have been a better episode if they'd gone to plan 'b': force the junkyard owner to eat the ants.

Honestly, I appreciate Roadkill and the other MT shows that much more because failure is an option. Watching F&F's opinion of the car continually decline as they "work" on it is entertaining in itself. The junkyard owner is definitely the terrible car stuff because he's hoarding a bunch of cars that are low-value to begin with, and have rotted absolutely to death. There's no way in hell that Buick would ever see the light of day again without that episode, and even the plasma cutter butcher job they're doing to it is just delaying the inevitable crushing.

I do wish that DED was edited just a little rougher, and with more of the actual build. It suffers from "Here's our idea, and the first couple of major parts, here's a montage of us starting to wrench on it, KABLAM now we're three weeks later and it's buttoned up and Fred is off-roading." It could stand some more documented failure.
