Looking at those prices, I can see why ticket sales would be bad. Single day and weekend passes look way overpriced. Similarly, Mo Pop is here this weekend and as much as I'd like to go, the prices are absurd for the lineup.

In fact, here's Brooklyn Vegan with a poster of the lineup I saw, showing White Lung on Friday: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/panorama-fest-announces-2016-set-times/ looks like you're right and they're back on Sunday now though still, there's not nearly $125 worth of poo poo to see on Sunday, so I'm still not going. For like $60 maybe I would but even then gently caress a festival abraham linksys fucked around with this message at 07:12 on Jul 22, 2016 |

Yeah I skipped Panorama for several reasons despite Arcade Fire/Sufy/National/Kendrick/Anderson .paak/RTJ/LCD being extremely my poo poo. Price + Goldenvoice + The Verge + middle of July heat in NYC + potential for severe weather (god that Gov Ball cancellation sucked) + top-heavy lineup was just too much to make it worthwhile.

Thankfully, that chance of thunderstorms tonight did not come about. Arcade Fire was worth camping at that main stage for, despite having to survive the madness of Major Lazer (who uses flame pyro in 90+ degree weather?!).

I'll definitely have to say Spiritualized really caught my ear. The orchestral pieces to their songs are always so cool and they got a really good sound to them. Spacemen 3 is alright too, they're much punkier sounding than Spiritualized but are just as awesome.

So this guy named Moses Sumney has gotten some press as of late, having played PMF a couple weekends back. Some of his stuff was produced by Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor. A bit of a grower, but I'm enjoying tracks like: "Pleas" "Everlasting Sigh" "Plastic" Put out a five-song EP last year and some singles since then. Can't find anything concrete about plans for an LP.

I'm a fanboy and therefore liked 9ToL more than many, but I think it's backloaded. "Will Do" is the sixth track and was the first (only?) single, and then the three that follow are, at any rate, my favorites on the album.

Seeds is par for the course for TVOTR which makes it pale in comparison to their earlier work. There's still a lot to love and it's on the higher end of quality as far as the modern alternative market goes, though. Careful You, the title track, Lazerray and Test Pilot are all really solid jams. There's a theme of loss that runs throughout it, which makes sense as it's the first LP they made after Gerald Smith passed away - it kinda walks a tightrope between love and loss with some melancholy effects. I love the production on it, everything sounds crisp and some of the choruses just soar. TVOTR doesn't get enough praise for their later work - it's hard to follow up two records as strong as Cookie and Science, but that's only because "really good" isn't "goddamn good."

Ah gently caress, I RSVPed to see Dinosaur Jr. for free tonight within walking distance of my workplace and I completely forgot about it until just now. I've been home for two hours and I think the show's over already (not that I'd be able to get there in time if it wasn't). This is the fourth time they've come to Chicago since last year I think, and I've missed all of them.

They played two new tracks (that weren't Run Run Blood or You Don't Get Me High Anymore) tonight at the Lolla aftershow. I dug both. One seemed like it could have been right off of Big Grams and the other was way different (almost prog rockish). So I'm totally excited to hear the whole album. They sounded loving fantastic all around though. Sarah is so great in person.

Incredibly fun to see live, despite the brevity of their set. They performed in the middle of the floor and Jenny frequently sang right in front of people's faces and once even pulled in someone to dance with her. P.S. Regarding that video, The Deep End Club was an actual store run by Tennessee Thomas that closed its doors last night. NAF played two sets at the store closing party Friday night because so many people showed up.

Jenn Champion nee Ghetto of Carissa's Wierd fame put out a new track called "No One". It's on Spotify. Man this lady just totally gets depression. Carissa's Wierd and the solo project before this, S, just completely nail that vibe. If she's getting into darkwave, I'm excited.

I bought 2 weekend passes to ACL Weekend 2, but my Austin buddy that I'm crashing with just told me he can only do the first weekend. I managed to get weekend 1 tickets but I paid out the nose =/ So anyone interested in weekend passes to weekend 2? Looks like Stubhub wants $375 each with fees and I would get $275 of that. So $325 each seems reasonable to me.

Well, we have new Bon Iver. It was announced several days ago that they'd play a new album in full tonight at the Eaux Claires Music Festival, then word broke ... Pitchfork link (with links to tracks — they're also on Spotify) quote:Now, the band have detailed their plans for its release. Over five years after Bon Iver arrived, 22, A Million is out September 30 via Jagjaguwar quote:22, A Millon: Gonna take a while to wrap my head around the two tracks. That's all I got.
