Octatonic posted:So I know that 9CL is hardly the most racist thing that gets posted ITT regularly, but this storyline is pretty loving racist and this series of lovely silhouettes of a guy doing something that Brooke supposes to be some form of martial art is the thing that is going to make me say it, apparently. It's kind of a foreskin dribble shake in the torrent of piss that is 9CL, but she's supposedly from Hong Kong yet uses the Mandarin term "ba" when the vast majority of Hong Kongnese would use the Cantonese "fa".

I had wondered if there were something like that going on? Like, I mean, this is par for the course in 9CL, but everything just feels forced and wrong and awkward

What I like is that every 9CL storyline goes on for what feels like ten years. This is rambling as much as the WWII grandmother plotline or whatever the gently caress that was.

There are comics we love, and comics we hate, and comics where we despise the person responsible for inflicting them on the world. Evil Mastermind posted:I think Boyce has been having a stroke for at least the last four threads. Boyce is a good guy, even though his strip is weird and has a lot of bad noun-verb agreement and such issues a lot of the time. I got his Keypad Kid coloring book a few years back. I sent him an email just to ask how to get it, expecting to pay a couple bucks--at least to cover costs, and he replied just asking for my address, and then apparently made a envelope label, got the book out of a box, put it in an envelope, and paid to mail to to me, all just because I asked for it. I still have it I think. (It's where this av is from, actually--someone here gave it to me after I posted it.) He's interesting to watch because I think he's really trying to help people deal with living in a world with technology constantly changing, but he doesn't understand it so well himself. F-Minus presents Jim Henson's Tintin Babies Mary Worth Didn't know that about Vicodin. Rex Morgan MD OK so not the pregnant stripper. I think that storyline she's from was before my time following this strip. Secret Agent X-9 "Be careful! That door will open towards you, so be sure to expect that! Mary Worth is doing a pretty good job right now of reminding me that while the art has gotten interesting, it's still the same writing. Almost like an anti-A3G.

Poil posted:Even though it feels like it, i doubt he has been taking it for years or anywhere near long enough to matter beyond addiction. That's the nasty part. The effective dose for acetaminophen/paracetamol is awfully close to the toxic dose, so it doesn't take much extra to get you in trouble. Everybody's different, but my understanding is that just a few extra pills, or if you drink alcohol while taking even the prescribed dose, your liver can give out in a matter of days or weeks. One of my neighbors got in the habit of a glass of wine each night with his Tylenol for his bad back, and ended up needing a transplant.
