d0grent posted:There's no Tyrrell = elliot reveal. If anything the reveal would be that Tyrrell is dead and elliot is just seeing him now. For Tyrrell to have always been elliot makes no sense. I agree But that would be a boring and predictable reveal, so I dont think it is. I think Tyrell was really alive all this time, and the real reveal is what happened that night between him and Elliot and what phase 2 is

The thing they need to address is that the bullet that was in the popcorn machine was fired, since the shell was found there by the police. I'm really hoping we find out on Wednesday, because not revealing that event after a whole other season has gone by would be . . . risky.

If we're all going down the timetravel/alt reality hole, I'm starting to think the red phones are a way to communicate between the two. Since both phones have appeared in 'dream states' (mental institution, the fish room) these could be projections of the ability to communicate. I am getting a strong vibe that Elliot can see and interact with people from both realities at the same time, and Angela as well after whatever Whiterose was alluding to. Washington Township is going to be the energy plant from Stranger Things

I was recently rewatching S2E05, particularly the scene with Whiterose (as Minister Zhang) and Dom. One bit of dialog from Zhang particularly stood out Minister Zhang posted:Let me ask, Ms. DiPierro - have you ever wondered how the world would look if the 5/9 hack never happened? How the world would look right now? In fact, some believe there are alternate realities playing out that very scenario. With other lives that we're leading, other people that we've become. The contemplation moves me very deeply. Not exactly earth shattering, but it's more fuel for the alternate reality fire.

Ersatz posted:Yeah - I actually had that dialog in mind when I wrote my post. At a minimum, I think we're getting something like White Rose using super computing to determine possible outcomese of choices, and then steering events to maximize favorable outcomes based on the predictions. This would also fit with the BTTF2 references; Biff had access to an almanac from the future and used that information to gain power.

Where is their any evidence for time travel at all other than the Bttf references. The blackouts aren't evidence of that as time is pausing if anything not jumping to another point in time. Would also be very not in keeping with the plot so far, with its theme focusing on what/who is real and what isn't.

I've read that tv serials where creators don't want their actors to know if they'll be killed or not, will end up paying every main actor a base pay, no mater how many episodes they appear in or when they die in the season. So if someone bites it in episode 2, they won't be privy to it until the moment they start shooting that episode, since as far as they know they are paid through the whole season. They did this on Breaking Bad and the Sopranos. I imagine they did it here as well. Though Tyrell is a different situation.

Phase 1: The seed is planted when opposites attract. Can you dig it? It takes the physical to create the physical. Phase 2: The flower blossoms through what seems to be a concrete surface. I.E. greed, racism, insanity, physical, and social handicaps. These are the things that mold the flower. Red rose or black rose, no in between. Phase 3: The judgement. If it were to fall upon you today, which flower would you be? The red rose, or the black? This is the warning.
