Ｍａｒｃｈ Ｃｏｍｅｓ ｉｎ ｌｉｋｅ ａ Ｌｉｏｎ   March Comes in like a Lion is a manga series by Chica Umino, she is also the author of Honey and Clover which was also very popular. It has been serialized since 2007 in the seinen magazine Young Animal (the magazine has pictures of gravure idols on the cover a lot of the time  ). In 2009 it was nominated for a Manga Taishō, but did not win. It was nominated again in 2011 and this year it won. In 2014 it also won the annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. There are 11 volumes. Now it is being made into an anime. March Comes in like a Lion is about a 17 year old professional shogi player named Rei Kiriyama. Rei lives by himself, has no family, and has no friends. He became a pro shogi player while in middle school, and is basically the golden child of the shogi world because of this. This story is basically about Rei's journey to adulthood. March Comes in like a Lion anime premieres on October 8, 2016 and it is being made by Studio Shaft. It is airing on a non-typical channel and timeslot for anime in Japan so they are really trying to promote it to a wider audience. March Comes in like a Lion will also be on Crunchyroll. The first episode will air on Saturday, October 8th, at 13:00 EDT. I don't know anything about Rei and Momo's VAs, but Ai Kayano also voiced Teko in Amanchu, Kana-chan in Chihayafuru, Mayaka in Hyouka, and Goth-loli-sama in Shirobako. Pretty drat good range considering how different they all sound. Kana Hanazawa is also the voice of Nadeko from the -gataris, Sonohara in Durarara, Onodera in Nisekoi, Naho in Orange, and the blue-haired girl in Teekyuu!

It's based on a saying, If March comes in like a lion it goes out like a lamb, which is in its original context about weather there's probably some japanese word play in there too

March Comes in like a Lion is half of the idiomatic phrase 'March comes in like a Lion, goes out like a lamb'. The title is also written as 3-gatsu no Lion, which becomes Sangatsu no Lion, and Sangatsu is the name of the town where all this takes place.

Obviously you can give most of the bigger inner thought stuff a hefty pruning and it'll be fine but I hope they don't completely ignore it. Still mad hype, the comic is great, this looks good.

The tonal shift between him alone vs the Kawamoto having was sweet. I also really loved Akari's text!! So perceptive  . Seriously, I think that was my favorite part of the episode.
