I cannot seem to find it, but at some point in the past 10-15 years there was a commercial which used the song 'Are You Happy In Your Work?' , so instead have a Gypsy version. :j:

Also a good bit of it was sampled in the Ministry song "So What". It's alway a bit jarring when you hear the original source of a sample "in the wild" as it were. I know, I'm old.

E: NVM. It was "The Violent Years" I was confused. I'm old.

The best part of The Violent Years was the scene where some Communists pay them to smash up the school. Because that was totally a thing that was happening.

My favorite part of The Violent Years was at the very beginning where the girls walk past a chalkboard with a bunch of positive traits written on it and, one by one, mockingly dismiss them. It's the sort of thing the people who make parody wish they could do as well, and it was done sincerely.

Just about all of them looked at the camera while doing it, too.

So here's an interesting question: who's dumber, Jimmy from I Accuse My Parents, or Marv from High School Big Shot?

I mean, they're both pretty stupid, but at least Marv was able to sort-of organize a heist. Not well, but he put a plan together. Jimmy doesn't seem to pay attention to anything that's going on around him because he's too busy making up stories about his parents.

At least Jimmy wrote an essay! But yeah, Jimmy was an idiot.

Marv at least got into crime on his own. Jimmy just kind of fell backwards into crime.

Anyway, new Kickstarter update. Joel says that this week is when they're going to start filming all the host segments, skits and Mad stuff.

Sadly the broadcast had issues so I missed the part where the kid accused his parents. I'll need to catch the missing bits later.

Same reason there's a new host. The show has always had a (gradually) changing cast. After all, none of the bots were their original voices by the end of the run, and of course the host and the mads were entirely different characters too. It's kind of like Saturday Night Live in that regard -- the players rotate in and out but the show continues. Joel has even put forth the idea that if the Sci-Fi Channel people hadn't canceled it, the show might be on its fifth or sixth "generation" of voices and characters by now. We've just had a bit of a hiatus, is all.

The other guys are happily doing Rifftrax, but I think they'll be cameo-ing on the new show. As for the new actors, they did a bit last year so you can get a feel for them if you watch this

The dude who does Crow is dead on perfect, and Servo sounds different, but the frenetic beeping made me laugh so I'm happy with them both

edit: how did two people reply in the time it took me to type that? Well at least mine came with a link
